From the Chicago Sun Times: “During the spring following America’s darkest fall, Jimmy Buffett has noticed a renewed sense of community blossoming in his live audiences.”

Some interesting points that Jimmy brought up in the interview:
“I’m soured on all politicians at this point … My allegiance is Democratic, but I’m putting them all in the same basket now. Nobody took the initiative [after Sept. 11] to seize an incredible opportunity. We’ve drifted back into who we are. Ozzy Osbourne has his biggest year, and Tonya Harding is in celebrity boxing. It will be that way until the next thing blows up.”
“When we went back on the road after Sept. 11, the country as a whole had that ‘What can I do?’ [concern], But it was squandered by the people in power. The way into this [the terrorist attacks] was oil and corporatization. That’s what got us here. So let’s start being fuel-efficient while we chase the bad guys. Let’s ask questions like ‘What can we do together to make life here better for our kids?’ And nothing was done.”
