Hello TUESDAY @ the MSC

Post by Saltx3 »

Good Morning: I woke up at 6:15 which is earlier than normal for me. (may be the subconscious thinking about tomorrow's surgery).

Anyway -- I'm going to the "Flavor it up" class at the library this afternoon. Each month is a different spice topic. Today is Wasabi which we like (in small doses). I'll also go food shopping - we don't need much as I have 5 meals planned & ingredients already bought. So this will be a short/cheap trip.

Enjoy your day!

Good morning, Linda. The spice it up sounds cool. Flavoring food for me has been salt, pepper cinnamon and sugar. Bern waxes poetic when narrating recipes and his spice cupboard is imressive!
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Good morning Linda and Bill.

I love wasabi! One of the places we visited yesterday in Galveston is Maceo's, and they sell a zillion spices, one of which is dried/ground wasabi. Yes, I have it at home.

Slept okay, we're both showered and dressed and about to go down for breakfast.

Linda, my Medicare broker had a call last night to go over the changes and increases but I wasn't in the mood for listening at 7:00pm. She'll be sending out the recap of it, and if I still have questions we'll do a 1:1 call. I got a mailer from my supplemental company, so I pretty much know what's coming.

See you again from Colorado!!

Good morning.

Hockey season starts today. There are 3 games and ESPN is televising all of them. The first one starts at 5:00. I forget who's playing, I'll check later and decide which one of the 3 games I want to watch.

It's my day off and I don't have any appointments for once. So I'm doing laundry, putting fresh linens on the bed, switching out the shower curtain liner, shopping online for a new Christmas Party outfit and soon I'll start chopping and prepping for Sweet and Spicy Stir Fry Chicken for dinner tonight.
Bryan spoke with our probate attorney and he said 17k is outrageous to clean out the house. He gave us the name of someone else to get a second opinion 🤞🤞🤞
Have a good Tuesday everyone.

Is the house just full of "stuff", or is it a hoarder's nightmare? After my MIL moved into assisted care, they had an estate sale business come in and hold a weekend event. After that, the quantity of stuff to give to Goodwill or haul to the dump was signifcantly less and they got $$$ from the proceeds of the estate sale. If nothing else, you could just put a "FREE STUFF" sign in front of the house and see what happens. Or maybe 1-800-GOT-JUNK?
Good luck....

When my father went into assisted living back in 2011 my sister and I had a company called College Hunks Hauling Junk empty the house. They charged by the truckload, I think it was about $400 or $500/load. We also had to buy an industrial strength paper shredder to get rid of everything he saved. I was 59 years old at the time and my father had tax returns, doctor bills and bank statements from before I was born. :o

Good evening all. We're home. AND I've had to turn the furnace on. It was 85 today in Galveston, and it's now 48 here.

Facing a huge amount of laundry tomorrow, Thursday, and more than likely some on Friday. Suitcases are just staying put, cause we're exhausted. I'll unload them tomorrow.

Hope you're still feeling good tomorrow, and no fever!!

We are not hoarders. My rule…if it hasn’t been used or worn in a year it leaves the house or garage !

Mostly stuff. Not a lot of anything of value. He was a retired postal worker so every piece of mail was saved and the date he opened it was written on the envelope. Ohio State Football memorabilia, baseball hats, jerseys etc. I still haven't found the photo albums from when I was a child.

At least you traveled to explain the extremes. It was 84° here yesterday and we just got a frost warning for tomorrow's projected low of 29°!
