This has been racking my brain most when I'm in the shower humming the tune. The lyrics go "They say you are a snuff queen"...Maybe its me but I have no idea what a snuff queen is. The word snuff to me means a murder that takes place on camera in a porno, but that wouldn't make any sence because how could the girl in the lyrics be that type of snuff and still be alive. I guess my being born in the eighties might have something to do with not knowing what that means, but if someone could shed some light onto what in the world a "Snuff Queen" is, I can go on to getting through singing "Why don't we get drunk and screw" in the shower.

I never heard that interpretation!

I thought it was slang for a groupie, particularly in the counrty music scene.

(I think Jimmy has said the song was inspired by a business man and a prostitute he saw in an Atlanta bar, tho...)

When PH4ever and I went to Jerry Jeff Walker's birthday bash, there were country stars at the afterparty and chicks hanging onto them for pictures and such. We looked at each other and simultaneously said "snuff queens"
The moral of the story: you may not be able to define "snuff queen" but you'll know one when you see one.
