Hello February THURSDAY @ the MSC

Post by Saltx3 »

Hey All!

Heading off to work until 2:30 -- leaving from there to meet GFs for a beach trip. Although it's a "working" weekend (we will be painting the main bedroom) we will have fun as usual. I'm almost afraid to type this but this may be my last girls beach weekend -- we usually go in May & October. I've been doing this since 1992 -- I will miss these trips but I guess living 15-20 minutes from the beach will help ease my sadness. Well, not the sadness of missing my girlfriends.

Facility for mom visit went well. It is a really nice place - we were able to talk to a few residents and the only complaint we heard was the guys want a pool table. We're told that management is working on that :). The price is right -- only problem is that Kelly would have a 30 minute drive from her place. Once we move that will make it harder for her. There is a place about 15 minutes from Kelly (we haven't seen yet) but it's also $2,000 more per month. At that rate Mom's bank account will dwindle must faster. After that she would be moved to a state-run facility. Those are not good.

Good morning, Linda. I'd go with the first home. That would keep her in better shape over the years.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

I agree with Bill.

Linda- everything you mentioned is exactly what we did with our parents. Dad only lasted a year in their AL Facility before he passed. Mom went on for 8 more years. My sister and I both had about a 20 minute drive to where she lived. And you'd want to do everything possible to keep her out of those state run places. :-?

And good morning BN. Nothing eventful here. Gearing up for bad weather this weekend, so we're getting our weekly booze order delivered tonight, and doing a grocery pick up tomorrow. If we can't get out on Saturday for DU hockey (And my birthday), we'll have food for meals and such.

Work is... work..

Hey! Has anybody seen January? It was just here.

Linda, my wife's mom was in memory care the last three years of her life (she passed last month after turning 99) and she was eligible for veteran's benefits since her husband was a vet. This really helped with finances.
Hank Hill : Just in case I'm incapacitated for some reason, do you know how to start a man's heart with a downed power line?

Bobby: No.

Hank : Well, there's really no wrong way to do it.

Well, I have to say that the best "Welcome Back" happened today from one of our CNA's. I take care of so many timecards, making sure they're right, and they are paid correctly. They get bonus pay for taking on extra shifts. It's an additional $10 per hour. The person who TRIED to fill in for me did a crap job - so I reviewed this one person's, and come to find out she missed out more than 50 hours of bonus pay = $500 before taxes! So I gave her the forms to sign so I can send them to our payroll group.... she went dancing across the floor singing "Penny's back, Penny's back"...   Yeah, it's nice to be appreciated by the staff, at least.

That’s odd because January felt like it had 76544 days in it to me…..
well, ummmmmmm, yah, I guess I better come up with something witty to put in this spot since everyone is reading it.......
