Re: I Survived Sunday @ MSC
So as some of you know, my job is as an event planner for an organization. Yesterday we had a car show planned. We also had a little old pesky Tropical Storm hitting the coast of NC. We are far enough inland that we were only expected to get a little rain and some wind so we opted to move forward with the show.
I woke up yesterday to the sound of rain. Sounded like more than a "little" rain and wind. At any rate, I arrive onsite and we could not put up part of our tents (even weighted down) because we ran the risk of them blowing a way and konking someone upside the head ( other people were worried about them hitting cars but I guess thats why they pay me the big bucks).
So we soon discovered internet was down. That would make taking payments for anything onsite difficult. Ok- no biggie. We would tell everyone cash only.
Everything was going as smooth as possible for wind, rain, no internet and likely very low attendance. I told someone, "ehhh...I've seen worse" and within 30 seconds we lost power too. Which meant we couldn't even open the doors to our museum.
Later that day, my friend asked me what was the highlight of my day and I replied "I didn't s*** myself". Well.......on my way home, the universe decided to teach me a lesson for eating ice cream ( after a year of almost completely clean eating) and I sharted myself......
I sure hope today is a better day...

Oh my ((((((Shannon)))))!!! You win for the worst day.
Morning Bill!
We're waiting on some new love seats to be delivered. And we got lucky enough that the two delivery drivers will take out the old ones. (for $, of course) cause I can't carry them, and Cameron (who was going to help Ron) is down with a cold.
Got a huge pork butt in the crock pot for sandwiches with a Cuban flavor tonight.

Holy moly. Now that’s a story. Maybe not one for around the holiday dinner table but still.sunseeker wrote: September 24, 2023 9:51 am So as some of you know, my job is as an event planner for an organization. Re: I Survived Sunday @ MSC
I spent the day yesterday in the kitchen. I made a crock pot of Beef stew, 2 loaves of banana pnut butter bread (Don't worry Bill, I have not forgotten about your banana nut bread
) and then I made some Frito Bars.
After all that, we settled in for the OSU vs ND game.
Today will be spent doing the last load of laundry. Bryan will go to the grocery store. I'm not sure what is on the menu, but we will not go hungry. Happy Sunday

Re: I Survived Sunday @ MSC
We’ve got all the rain from the south folks sharing.
I’m going through our “fall” decorations and have another large trash bag for the trash tote. Summer decoration boxes are done but we kept all our Parrotfest stuff as we hope to have a last hurrah next April.
We opted out of church this weekend so we’ll watch the service later today after it’s uploaded to YouTube.

Penny they are salty sweet goodness! And super easy to make.SMLCHNG wrote: September 24, 2023 11:34 am Good morning Linda, Larry, and Tammy!![]()
Tammy? What are Frito bars??
https://pin.it/7H9TeLs Here is the link. Let me know if you can't access it. I have a couple of tips...next time I would use a parchment lined cookie sheet so they aren't so thick. You'll lose less Fritos when you cut the bars. And I sprinkled some chocolate chips on top of the Fritos before I spread the topping on.

The power went out here about an hour ago. I sure hope it gets restored soon, I’m trapped in my electric recliner and I need to pee….

People who ask me what I’m doing tomorrow probably assume that I even know what day of the week it is.

Been there. It happened after I fell and had a broken left leg and right foot. I did manage to scoot out towards the foot rest and got out without tipping the chair over. Oh yeah, you can definitely tell your eating Fritos, but that salty crunch and the caramely topping is addictive.SMLCHNG wrote: September 24, 2023 2:25 pmHmmm... interesting.
