flu shot

My mother used to get a flu shot every year, and every year it almost killed her. I always shied away from them. This week they are offering them at work and think I am going to do it this year, my first time. Tell me, do you get a flu shot every year? Any bad reaction or experience to share?

I get one every year and have for over a decade. The two times I didn't get one, I actually got the flu. I get mine tomorrow, actually. I have never had any sort of reaction.

Kevin & I both get a flu shot every year. I work at the Courthouse and even though I'm in a secured area there are inmates going back & forth outside of my office all the time. We never know what they are bringing on their "field trip". Neither of us have ever gotten sick from the shot. Most health care pros will tell you if you get sick after the shot you were probably already on your way. The serum does not contain a live flu virus.

I have a lot less exposure though, working from home full time.

Hubby never gets a flu shot, always gets the flu. Girl kid always gets one because she has a compromised immune system.

When I had a job I got one every year because the firm paid for them. I never had a bad reaction to one. I haven't worked in 7 years so that's how long it's been since I had a flu shot. I've had the flu twice in my life, both times in years I didn't get a shot.

the vaccine may not keep you from getting the flu but if you do get it the vaccine should substantially lower the severity and length.
