Seriously, 50?? :o
Crazy stuff. We were slow getting our act together, so instead of club seats, 3 of us tried to get 6 tickets together using 8 computer screens and a conference call right at 10 - a couple hits in the bad 300's section then sold out.

Still hoping to pull a rabbit out of a hat, tho - not too worried.

I know I can buy your ticket when you back out, Kev - and Brandon probably won't stay for the whole show, so we can get someone in on that ticket for the 2nd set... it'll all come together.
Don't get me started on this this morning. I already started a post entitled " My Ticketmaster Rant  ", in hopes that venting would make me feel better, but it wasn't working and I had to stop writing it. Let's just say it was off to a good start when I was chatting with a Ticketmaster rep and here's how the conversation went:

My Original Question: Can you tell me what sections each price of ticket is for?

Hi, my name is XXXX, please give me a moment to review your information and I would be happy to assist you today.
ME: Thanks,
Her: You're welcome.
Her: $34.85 and $151.05
Me: Can you please tell me what sections the $34.85 tickets cover and also, what is the ticket max for this concert?
Her: Unfortunately we do not have the exact sections until the tickets go onsale.
Her: The higher the price, the better the seats.
Me: Thanks, have a great day.
Her: You're welcome.

Really, tickets go onsale in a few minutes and the people selling them don't have any information about the event. I got 6 in section 319. Really, section 319 was best available less than a minute after the tickets went on sale? Then I checked stubhub.com. That was a mistake. It mad me madder.

I guess I need to review my signature below. I hope everyone else did better.
The next time you get mad, ask yourself the following question. Will it will matter a year from now?
If it won't, breathe in, breathe out and move on. Life is short, remember to have fun along the way.

Headin South for Louisville Show! Have never seen Jimmy at an indoor arena. NO LAWN SEATS !!! NO TAILGATING ??? (Is that some kind of Kentucky State Law ???) Will be a new experience for sure. Where is the best place to party before the show? I've heard about 4th street live. Any suggestions ?

Did mine online at exactly ten o'clock. It sucked but I was able to grab 4 tickets in the cheap seats. Oh well, at least I will get to go.

I hope to seem some of you phlockers there.

The upper level seats are for the "Lawn People!" As far as I'm concerned . . . that's the best place to be!

Got right in at 10:00 for 2 tickets 3rd row..... uppers (309). Went ahead and got those, went right back in, had a 5 minute wait, no tickets available. Something does sound very fishy.

Still looking forward to the concert, never seen Jimmy inside. Only seen him at riverbend. There will be no tailgating at the yum center cause there are not parking lots, all parking garages. There are plenty of nice hotels within walking distance but they will be expensive.

The Yum Center is amazing, just over a year old and state of the art. Im sure there will be plenty of pre-party stuff going on close by, 4th street will be the place to be.

So, it looks like 4th Street is hosting the pre and post party plans for Buffett. There should be more details listed soon, but I suggest checkout the Derby Parrothead Group. Just look them up on facebook, or you can check out their website here:

An option for tailgating in an outdoor parking lot is Louisville Slugger Field. It's only about four blocks from the Yum! Center and is often used for event parking for events at the Yum!

And I got my tickets. Section 323. It will be a little different seeing Jimmy indoors but there's never a bad way to see Jimmy live. It will be nice seeing him in my hometown. He hasn't played Louisville since 1989 at Louisville Gardens, and that show was only two-thirds full. Then I go to Cincy in 1993 and he's selling out five shows in a row. Whew.

I have alot to say to previous posters. First of all, it will be a very urban environment. For those of you who have just seen JB at Riverbend be in for very unique suprise....indoors is very different. Be aware of where your seats are, because you could be very well seeing the show with binoculours. Also, tailgaiting will be at local overpriced bars near the venue...so bring cash for Louisville. 4th Street Live is for 20 somethings that have no clue who JB is. You may or may not be welome there...

I am actually a Louisvillian and I'm dissapointed with this choice. JB could have sold out Churchill Downs later in the spring and played in front of 100K instead of 25K....outdoors. Oh well, his loss. I WILL GET 'BOAT DRINKS' PLAYED AT THIS SHOW!!!!! Its my favorite song and will be played...trust me. I will scream for it until the cops haul me away...we take Buffett VERY serious here in the Ville!

Very dissappointed the picture my fellow Louisvillians are painting for the Yum! Center. Just to clarify, yes the Yum! Center is downtown, but it is in a nice part of town. There will be plenty of bars and restaurants right around the Yum! Center to eat drink, although allow for plenty of time because on event days these places do fill up.

In regards to 4th Street Live, it's a great place to go if you want to have a good time. There is something for everyone there, including a Hard Rock Cafe, a dueling piano bar, and plenty of other bars and restaurants. You will see all kinds of ages down there on any given night. And as was posted above, they will be catering to Parrotheads on concert day, so that should be a great time.

As far as the venue itself, the Yum! Center is a brand new state-of-the-art facility that seats 22,000 people. The Eagles played the inaugural show to open the Yum! Center, and Van Halen with David Lee Roth thought enough about the venue to open their tour there. The seating will be no worse than if you were to watch the show from the lawn of Riverbend, except that it doesn't matter if it rains.

Will this show keep me from going to the show in Cincy this year? Heck no, but any chance to see Jimmy and not have to drive very far is always a good thing! Come to The Ville and see the show. You will not be dissappointed.

Hey! L-Ville, Lighten up. It's all about Jimmy! It's all about the music! It's all about 15,000 Parrotheads coming to town! March 3rd will be the biggest party on the planet! I can't wait to get there.

Cant wait for Jimmy to FINALLY come back to Louisville....seems that only partying so far is the bars around the arena or 4th Street Live.
I have written the mayor a letter requesting an area be set aside for tailgating. Belvedere,Waterfront Park,Slugger Field parking lot....etc.
If we can get enough Parrotheads to do the same, maybe just maybe we can have a place to celebrate Jimmys return to Louisville. I am including a link http://www.louisvilleky.gov/Mayor/contactusmayor.htm

Lets all jump on board and hopefully be able to tailgate before the show!!

Hey everybody! Let's unite and start bugging Mayor Fischer for a place to tailgate for the Jimmy Buffett concert on Saturday, March 3rd! 4th Street Live! parties are great, but the drink prices are a little steep. We have the entire Waterfront area, parking lot behind Slugger Field and many other options that would allow us to mingle and party with all of our PHeathered PHriends!
Time is running out so dig through your friend lists and start adding people to this group and encourage them to copy, paste and send this message (or write their own) to Mayor Fischer's website:

Dear Mr. Mayor:
As you may know Jimmy Buffett is coming to our fine city on Saturday, March 3rd. I am writing this to request that an area be set aside for Parrot Heads to tailgate before the show.
I am aware this will require additional police and security, but I believe this can be done with minimal police and traffic disruptions. Areas such as Waterfront Park, The Belvedere and even Slugger Field's parking lot would be ideal for this event.
Jimmy Buffett has not been to Louisville since 1989 and we would love for him to come back. Tailgating is a major part of the Jimmy Buffett experience and cities like Cincinnati and Tampa provide an area for his fans to do so. Don't let Louisville get left off the tour list next year!!!
Kind regards,

This was posted on our FB site Louisville Fingaters...lets get it done!! http://www.louisvilleky.gov/Mayor/contactusmayor.htm

I'll be there! I have a floor seat in section 3... I'm not convinced that this is a great seat considering some of the upper sections are technically closer to the stage but for less money... but the venue seating chart wasn't even available when tickets went on sale so it is what it is.

My advanced apologies to row S, seat 11 because my hat will also be attending the concert. Ha! [smilie=cheeky-grin.gif]

The 4th street Live event is probably the place to be and I'm pretty sure all Parrotheads will be welcome considering they are kicking a live band and other events specifically for the pre concert. Besides if there is 10000+ Parrotheads in town I certainly think we will be able to phlock together. We have had a pretty mild winter so hope that trend continues to Mar 3rd. But the 4th street area is covered and is only about 3 blocks from the Yum center, multiple levels, plenty of restaurants and bars. I think it will be a good time! and I will be there in full tailgate attire!

If you don't have a hotel room I suggest getting it now as many of the downtown hotels were already booked as of yesterday... I grabbed a room at the Hyatt Regency downtown.

Let's party! [smilie=superkewl.gif]
