According to the Department of Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, the Margaritaville specialty license plate has 2,713 pre-sale vouchers. The state prerequisite for a plate to be printed is 3,000 pre-sale vouchers. Only 287 more license plates need to be ordered before the plate will be manufactured and made available.
The Margaritaville license plate proceeds will go to the Singing For Change foundation, which was created by Buffett, to benefit Florida nonprofits helping with hurricanes and other disasters.
