Andy Cohen’s heartfelt message about Jimmy Buffett on CNN’s NYE Live

Transcript from CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live 2024 show:

ANDERSON COOPER: You were friends with Jimmy Buffett as well.

ANDY COHEN: God it just tore me up, Come Monday just makes me cry. I just love that song so much.

Jimmy Buffett was just a light, in not only in my life, but I mean in the world’s life. He was just a universal kind of beacon of good vibes, and partying and, just happiness, and chasing your own happiness. And, man, I’ll tell you something, I got to know him over the last ten years, and everywhere he was where peace and happiness was. That’s the only way I could describe it. I just loved him so much and Jane.

ANDERSON COOPER: And there are certainly a lot of people who are watching tonight who have lost somebody this past year, or this time of the year remember and feel the loss of somebody in their lives, a father, a grandparent, a child.

  1. I never actually met Jimmy Buffett, but your words, and sentiments just right, where I feel a huge loss, but it’s not gonna go away from me what he gave us a person to this people in this world, or cherish it forever

  2. 2023 was overwhelming for me….lost my sister in March, my brother in June, then Jimmy in September. Bubbles Up continues to help me get through it, and they will all remain in my heart forever…til we meet again. ❤️🙏😇😇😇

  3. Jimmy Buffett once mentioned he was supposed to be a lawyer. Could you imagine how many lives would be different if that had happened ?? What would the world be like without parrot heads?? So happy Jimmy chose the path he did😊RIP🦜❤️

  4. Proud to be a Parrothead since the early 70’s! The last album, Equal Strain on All Parts is so good. Bubbles up!

  5. Lost my dad 30 years ago on july 2nd of 1993, lost my uncle 5-6 years ago in July. I had to put my dog down this July 2nd 2023. So July isn’t a good month for me anymore. I remember the time when my nephew came over to help my mom with some organization. He told me that Jimmy passed. I said yeah right. Then I went on social media and every post almost was about Jimmy passing. I was in the car and I had radio margaritaville on The she were on emotional. I now play Jimmy’s music and the songs have more meaning. Thank you Jimmy for the tunes 🫧 up
