At their concert at The Sphere in Las Vegas U2 dedicated the song “Love Rescue Me” to Jimmy Buffett whose family were also in attendance. Bono dedicated the song to Jimmy Buffett, his wife Jane, Savannah, Delaney, Cameron, and Jimmy’s doctors.
Bono and Jimmy were close friends over the years. The two were involved in an incident when Buffett’s plane was shot at by the Jamaican police. The “Hemisphere Dancer” was carrying Buffett, U2’s Bono, and others. Police suspected it was smuggling drugs. Fortunately, no one was hurt, although there were a few bullet holes in the plane. The incident was later recounted in the song “Jamaica Mistaica” on the album Banana Wind.

First and foremost, Jimmy Buffett was a wonderful human being who felt it was his “job” to make everyone happy! And he accomplished that in aces!❤️ He is soo missed and so beloved. This world needs more Jimmy Buffetts!❤️
