Jimmy Buffett posted an update on the status of his condition on Facebook:

Thanks to all who were worried about me. I am healing up fine and will take the rest of the year off to get in form for next year, but I am more concerned about how all my friends from The Keys to Nova Scotia are doing in the wake of the storms. We, of course, will be helping out when and where we can, and try and reason with hurricane season once again.

    I have been listening to ur great songs and a really big fan since the 8th grade long long time ago. Just wanted u to know I really love ur books and stories. Tales from Margaritaville and Joe Merchant are my favorites. My CDs are worn and warp but I still play them all the time.. Ur music always makes me feel better even on my worse days.
    Hope u r well on the mend. And feeling happy and better soon.
    I see ur big Boat Margaritaville all the time when it leaves port here in PB.

You are such a very big part of my life ever since the first time I saw you pull up in a white limo at the ATP tennis stadium in Mason , Ohio in 82snd get out wearing captain attire.I have a attended 17 of your concertsand the Coast of Marseille and Come Monday which was my bridal song has soothed me thru many nights. Please take extra time to heal do this true Parrot head can rest easy and make it to number 18. You are so loved and will always have a special place in this Parrot Heads life. Long live JB
