From the San Diego Union Tribune: Jimmy Buffett postpones fall tour, including San Diego Snapdragon Stadium show, after ‘brief hospitalization’
Citing unspecified “health issues,” Jimmy Buffett has canceled two of his upcoming fall tour dates and postponed three others, including his Oct. 22 concert at San Diego State University’s new Snapdragon Stadium.
In an announcement made Tuesday morning, the veteran singer-songwriter’s representatives stated that “on doctor’s orders,” Buffett “must take this time to recuperate and heal,” adding: “Jimmy looks forward to getting back on stage next year.”
The statement also referenced his “brief hospitalization” as a reason Buffett, 75, will need to “refrain from touring for the rest of the year.” No details were provided about what health issues he faces, the reason for his hospitalization, or when and where it occurred.
Buffett’s Oct. 8 and 15 concerts at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas have been rescheduled for next March 4 and 11, respectively.
However, no new date has been announced yet for his now-shelved Oct. 22 San Diego show. It would have been the first concert at the newly opened Snapdragon Stadium and was scheduled to feature an opening set by Grammy Award-winning San Diego troubadour Jason Mraz and his band.
Buffett’s Oct. 10 and 12 shows in Utah and Idaho have been canceled outright. Tickets for his postponed October concerts will be valid at the rescheduled dates or can be refunded at point of purchase, with the exception of his San Diego show.
No refunds will be available for his Snapdragon Stadium performance until a makeup date is announced, according to a representative for Live Nation, the show’s promoter.
Buffett’s 2022 tour with his Coral Reefer Band began April 23 in North Carolina. His most recent concert was Aug. 20 in Wisconsin.
