“Jamaica Mistaica” 20th Anniversary

Twenty years ago (on January 16th, 1996) Jimmy Buffett, Island Records chairman Chris Blackwell, and U2 singer Bono and family were taking off in Buffett’s seaplane the Hemisphere Dancer in Jamaica when authorities opened fire on them mistaking them for drug traffickers. Nobody was hurt and no drugs are found, just a few bullet holes in Buffett’s plane. Buffett gets a song out of it “Jamaica Mistaica” which appeared on the album “Banana Wind”.
