Workin’ and Playin’ in Great Woods

Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band brought the Workin’ n Playin’ tour to the Xfinity Center in Mansfield MA last night. During the pre-show interview Buffett mentioned he has played at Great Woods (now known as the Xfinity Center) more than any other venue. He said he was able to confirmed the total number of shows played by going to BuffettNews.com.

The set list from the show is now available. Buffett and the band played 23 songs including “Tampico Trauma” (last played on April 16th 2011 in Tampa FL), “Fruitcakes”, and “Trying To Reason With Hurricane Season” for the final encore.

During the show Buffett made a joke about Deflategate. Buffett picked up a large beach ball that was on the stage and said: “This beach ball looks a little deflated to me. There’s a message on it, Roger Goodell sucks. Looks like a perfectly good ball to me”. Buffett then kicks the beach ball. “It works. What is the big deal.”

The tour continues on Tuesday August 18th with a show at Jones Beach in Wantagh, NY.

  1. The guy at the end of the interview from ESPN Matthew Berry says to Jimmy that he has been to 25 Buffett concerts and has never heard Pascagoula Run or Fruitcakes live? What?

Fruitcakes is one the top 20 most played songs he had played all time in concert, 205 times total.

  2. FPF, Jimmy may have played Fruitcakes at the shows he was at. We can’t assume he was sober enough to hear it. Cheers and Fins Up!
