Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band performed at the Amway Arena in Orlando FL on Thursday night as part of the Summerzcool Tour. The last time Buffett performed in Orlando was three years ago on Feb 8th, 2007 at the same venue.
The Set List and comments from the show are now available. Some changes to the set list included “License To Chill” during the first set, “Door Number 3” during the second set, and “Trying To Reason With Hurricane Season” during the encores.
The Summerzcool Tour ends on Saturday February 27th with a show at the BankAtlantic Center in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
The Orlando Sentinel has a review of the show: “Jimmy Buffett does it old-school at Amway Arena”
He waxed nostalgic about the many times he played the Orlando Arena, which is scheduled to give way to the new Amway Center later this year.
“I’m gonna miss this place,” he said. “I think I’ll just buy it.”
He can afford it. At the same time, videos on vintage Buffett the screen and the singer’s stories were potent reminders that the wealth and fame are grounded in the roots of genuine troubadour.
At the end of the night, standing alone with his guitar, he recalled riding around the state in the early days with iconic Florida folksinger Gamble Rogers and talking to him about music at the Tradewinds lounge in St. Augustine. Then, he looked at the crowd:
“I’m a lucky, lucky guy,” Buffett said.
