Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band ended the June leg of The Year of Still Here Tour with a show at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia last night. Buffett performed two shows at the ballpark back in 2005.
The Set List and comments from those who listened to the show on Radio Margaritaville are now available.
Jimmy changed things up a little by startin the show off with an acoustic solo version of the song “Why Don’t We Get Drunk and Screw”. Special guest G Love, who was the opening act, joined in on harmonica on the song “Son Of A Son Of A Sailor”.
Jimmy decicated the final song of the show “Defying Gravity” to Tim Russert, host of NBC’s Meet the Press who passed recently for a heart attack.
A blog on CentreDaily.com by Bob Heisse has a quick review of the show:
In a word it was awesome, as good as any Buffett concert that I’ve seen, living up to the billing of “The Year of Still Here.”
Buffett was delayed by the rain but played late into the night, and I can still hear “Glory Days” in the Philly air and see the fireworks that followed.
There were great versions of all the songs you expect, including personal favorites “One Particular Harbour,” “Five O’Clock Somewhere” and of course “Margaritaville.”
In short, Buffett is rowing right along, delighting many of us. He’s a true treasure, and now I can thank him for “The Year of Still Here.”
