Jimmy Buffett appeared on the Today Show this morning. A video clip is of his appearance is available at MSNBC
Matt introduced Jimmy as the one of the producers of the new movie Hoot, makes a cameo appearance, and did the soundtrack for the film.
Jimmy said the movie is about burrowing owls. They had actual owls in the movie, they didn’t have a budget to hire expensive computer graphics. He said he wanted to make a movie that parents could watch with their kids and not fall asleep. He mentioned Savanna Jane Buffett was the music supervisor. Jimmy was a proud parent when he saw the movie.
Matt joked about why the movie is being releasing now, will the Academy voters remember his cameo appearance.
Matt confirmed Jimmy Buffett will be playing the Today Show Concert Series later this month (on Friday, May 26th). Jimmy asked Katie to think about what song she wants him to play.
