Jimmy on Radio Magaritaville

Posted by ParrotHeadDeb: I was just listening to Radio Margaritaville and Jimmy called in and chatted with Miles Hampton.

Jimmy was 10 miles off Delray Beach in the gulf stream sword fishing at night. Didn’t have much luck, the steaks were good and the bottle of wine was outstanding (Jimmy has a grill on his boat, probably the Margaritavich).

Jimmy said that he is heading down to Jamaica in the morning to see the dog sled team. Jimmy was proud the team finished 27th out of 60 teams in Scotland last week. One of the dogs overheated on the last run. Little Feat will be playing at the Magaritaville in Jamaica.

Jimmy had lunch with Dave Matthews on Tuesday. Dave’s cruise leaves on Friday, Savannah Jane will be on the cruise.

Talked about recording the new album in Key West about 2 weeks ago. Only took half of the rythym section, and will overdub everyone. Jimmy said 10 tracks are ready and 3 more will be recorded the last week of February. The new album is on pace to be released in the fall.

The songs on the new album are in addition to the Hoot Soundtrack. Jimmy said the Hoot Soundtrack is due out this spring and the movie is planned to be released on April 21st. He did about 3 or 4 songs and one is a duet with Alan Jackson. Savannah Jane was the music supervisor.

Jimmy said he was planning to take summer off because the kids would be going to boarding school in the fall. He will be on tour in the spring and the fall. He’s planning something interesting for the fall. The tour will start with dates in April and May. Jimmy said "Still firming up a few dates everybody seems to figure it out before I do". This year’s tour will include some new material and he will change it up a little bit.

Will Kimbrough wrote some of the songs on the new album with Roger, Pete, and Mac. Talked about playing a show in St Barts at Le Bete Azailes and hung out with John Cruz. The Apsen show was fun and nobody through beer bottles at us.

"A Lot of Love" special will air on Radio Margaritaville on Valentines day. It’s a tribute to Nicolete Larson.

Looking at releasing some more live concerts on CD and DVD since "Live at Fenway" and "Live and Hawaii" were so popular. Miles hinted at releasing the Wrigley shows.
