Club Leaders and Club Members –
As you all know, Hurricane Katrina has literally destroyed entire cities within Louisiana and Mississippi. We have all seen the news footage and read what is happening down there.
The Board of Directors of both Parrot Heads in Paradise, Inc. (PHIP) and the Paradise Charitable Foundation, Inc. (PCF) have agreed we as an organization would like to do something to help the victim of this disaster. While the Red Cross and other organizations are doing a wonderful job of helping anyone in need, we (PHIP and PCF) would like to target our help toward members of Parrot Head Clubs located in the these areas.
During a conference call tonight we agreed to start a fund, that will be administered by PCF, where all monies collected will go directly to these Parrot Heads in need. The name of this fund is PHIN and it stands for Parrot Heads in Need. As PCF is all volunteer, 100% of every dollar collected will go directly to Parrot Head club members.
In the next few days, an announcement will go out as to how both clubs and individual club members can make donations to the PHIN fund. A Paypal link will be established on the PHIP web page and we will also accept checks. As PCF is a IRS recognized 501c3, all monies donated are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Remember…this is Parrot Heads helping Parrot Heads, directly and where it is needed most.
