Now I know why Jimmy hasn’t been calling me the last few days !! He lost my number !!!! According to an article in today’s Palm Beach Post, Jimmy lost his Ericsson $500 cell phone at a Delray Beach Cuban restaurant on May 29th. The phone was found by a bus boy who had a great time with his friends strolling down the list of Jimmy’s big-deal buddies. “It may be time for Democratic giants Bill Clinton, Al Gore and Jimmy Carter, country music stars Clint Black, George Strait and Alan Jackson; rapper reggae star Cam’ron; actors George Clooney, Michael Douglas and Harrison Ford; and Microsoft supergeek Bill Gates to change their numbers.” All the info is on the microchip which the busboy, Jason Martin, has not returned. He did return the cell phone, however. Buffett didn’t miss the phone until May 30th when a friend dialed the number and Martin answered. “He said I was a thief and a liar” Martin said. “Then I called Jane’s number, and she was nasty to me. So I told them I wouldn’t give it back.” Buffett called the restaurant for help – the owner fired Martin and called the cops. Because of the Clinton and Carter entries in the memory, a local Secret Service agent also responded. “It’s a person’s worst nightmare,” Buffett said.
