From the Denver Post: “Sign offers drivers quick dose of humor”
An Aurora police officer hopes that keeping motorists laughing will end their need for speed in a 10-block stretch of south Tower Road. An electronic message board on Tower between Hampden and Iliff avenues once urged drives to slow down or it warned about detours around messy construction sites.
And a crowd favorite: “Stop road rage. Play Jimmy Buffett songs in your car.”
Patrol officers say they have been clocking vehicles at lower speeds and handing out fewer tickets since the humorous messages began appearing. The reference to Buffett automatically made Pam Jordan envision herself on a beach in Mexico with a cold drink in her hand.
