Less than a year later Corcoran found himself back in Key West. He was a bartender at the Pier House Resort’s Chart Room when country singer Jerry Jeff Walker, a frequent visitor to the island and friend of Corcoran, brought Jimmy Buffett in for a beer. “I sold Buffett the first beer he drank in Key West,” he recalled. “We’re still friends.” The friendship grew to the point where Corcoran has written with Buffett and has done photography for the singer. He also produces the yearly Jimmy Buffett calendar.
