The Mayor of Margaritaville crashed his seaplane through a warning barrier at Palm Beach’s airport earlier this week, racking up his third flying incident in less than a decade. Buffett nearly wasted away in 1994, following a crash into Nantucket Harbor, which he managed to swim away from unharmed. Then two years later, he raised the ire of Jamaican authorities, who thought he was a drug smuggler and tried to shoot his craft out of the sky. While he was unhurt this time as well, we’d advise Buffett to search for that lost shaker of salt, but leave the flying to someone else.
