The Ft Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel has an article:
Jimmy Buffett’s biplane veers off runway in West Palm
A Federal Aviation Administration official said Monday it wasn’t Buffett at the controls. But a Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue incident report lists South Florida’s most famous crooner as the pilot. The person flying the plane was not injured in the 2:30 p.m. accident at the north end of the runway.
From Jonathan: The Palm Beach Post is reporting JB’s plane veered off the runway while landing at Palm Beach International this past Saturday, striking a nearby runway sign. The plane was definitely registered to Jimmy’s company but some airport officials are not reporting that Jimmy was the actual pilot. However, Fire and Rescue’s report list Jimmy Buffett as the pilot. The plane has minimal d*mage and “the pilot” was not injured. I have had trouble finding this article online but it is definitely in the hard copy Local Section of today’s Palm Beach Post. If it’s online it would be at http://www.gopbi.com.
The plane involved in the accident was the one that Jimmy recently aquired. It’s a Boeing Stearman E75 single engine plane. Here’s a picture of a similar plane.
