Jimmy Buffett’s “Far Side of the World” debuted at #5 on the Billboard Top 200 and at #1 on the Internet Album Sales for the week ending April 6, 2002.
Jimmy Buffett arrives at No. 5 with “Far Side of the World.” Released on his own Mailboat label, the album’s 79,000 unit total doesn’t quite best the 100,000 copies his last studio album, “Beach House on the Moon” (IDMG), moved in its first week in 1999. Still, it’s his highest chart position since 1996’s “Banana Wind” (MCA), which opened at No. 4.
