Article in today’s Boston Herald “Paradise (name) lost” about Jimmy and his people upset (a good upset) about a menu item at a boston pub.
Big City owner Marc Kadish had to amend his carnivorous (menu) habits recently after Jimmy Buffett’s legal eagles flipped – and not in a good way – over the eatery’s “Cheeseburger in Paradise Pizza.”
“It was, by far, the nicest legal letter I’ve ever received,” said Kadish, who served up the thin-crust ‘za with lettuce and tomato, an onion slice, Heinz 57 in the dough and teeny tiny cheeseburgers on top.
French fried potatoes, a kosher pickle and a cold draught beer were optional, we guess. . . .
Kadish said he has no idea how the Parrothead’s peeps got their hands on the Big City’s menu. But because Buffett’s Atlanta-based lawyers were so – can you believe it? – nice about it, the owner said he quickly reprinted the menu and re-named the popular pie, “Not Your Typical Cheeseburger Pizza.”
“It wasn’t a money issue,” said the Big City-zen. “They’re just in the business of protecting his intellectual property.”
Kadish said after he dispatched word to Mr. Margaritaville’s main men that the menu was changed, they wrote back and “were totally cool with it. They thanked me and said if Buffett was ever up this way, he’d try it.”
So we bet it was worth every d*mn bit of sacrifice!
