I did my last lawn concert for anyone ever a few years back. It was cold, rainy, just plain miserable. I have been in other rain filled shows, but as you get older, the lawn is well.... Not for me. Give me tickets in the first 15 rows or so, and I will be happy. Otherwise, I see no point in going to the show at all.
I AM AN AMERICAN
USA COMES FIRST
THE REST COME LAST
LEARN IT
LOVE IT
LONG LIVE THE USA OR DIE
Way too old for the lawn.
But put me anywhere else, and i will have a great time at the concert! I would love to be up close, but if that doesn't happen, I'll still enjoy a concert!

This past summer, I went to my first "amphitheater" concert with a pavilion/lawn setup at Camden, and was amazed how well I saw everything from my seats pretty far back in the 200s.
For me, pavilion is obviously better, but as long as I can see and if that means buying lawn seats and getting in really early to get a good spot on the lawn, that's okay too!
Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

Like I've said earlier, I've always been lawn, and when it comes to the concert starting, I'm a selfish enough of an S.O.B. that I'll move up on my own and get a better vantage point than where the rest of the crowd I'm hanging out with is.
Take me for what I am, a star newly emerging.

I'm not voting in this one.
I've been in every area of the venue(s), and have had the time of my life each time. I have fun no matter WHERE my seat is. (Although I'm not too crazy about the lawn, since that's where most of the puking and passing out happens).
But, since I do love the music of Jimmy Buffett, and I'm always sober enough to remember the concert-put me anywhere in the house. I WILL have a blast.
put THAT in your pipe & smoke it, you young whippersnappers!

I've already seen Jimmy from just a few feet away and nothing will ever beat that so now for the most part I don't care where I sit as long as I'm there. I was in the nosebleed section once in Orlando and still had a blast.
I was in the pavillion once and it was good although people around me did not like me standing up. I guess if you've got seats, use 'em but I used to pride myself on never ever sitting down at a Buffett show. Almost every other time has been on the lawn which is usually fine with me especially if I'm near the front.
The lawn at Tampa was not good imo for sound last year. It was the furthest up I'd ever been on the lawn and I could barely hear the music and it seemed like everybody in the crowd was just talking. For the first time ever I sat down and did not get into the show. Something was bothering me anyway and I figured if I can't hear the show I might as well leave early and I did. I went out to the parking lot and hung out with ToplessFl and company and we listened to the show on her Sirius radio. Nowadays I look more forward to hanging with friends and tailgating the the actual show anyway.

Maybe this has already been addressed in the past, but does anyone have any thoughts on the sitting/standing issue?
I'm one to want to stand and dance throughout the whole show, but find myself "worrying" about all the SYKBH fans behind me cause they all end up sitting during the songs they don't seem to know (which at Camden seemed like a lot).
I want to enjoy myself at the concerts but also be considerate of others around me. What to do? What to do?
