when jimmy did it at great woods.....He said something to the effect of people can relate to this that live on the gulf or up in cape cod. I got the impression it wasn't about a specific bar, but about your typical beach bar.....
Some of it's magic, some of it's tragic, but I had a good life all the way

A video for the song "Bama Breeze" was filmed on July 28th, 2006 in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi at the old Fire Dog Saloon. The music video is about Hurricane Ivan's effects on the Flora-Bama, a beach bar in Gulf Shores, Ala. :D 8) :pirate:

We saw the FloraBama a couple of months after most of it was destroyed.
It wasn't that sturdy to begin with, but it was sad. I got one of those t-shirts they were selling in the trailer across from where it used to be. I snuck into the fenced area and 'liberated' a piece of the FloraBama. It begged me to take it home with me, so I did. 8)
How much have they rebuilt? The last time we went by in March, the bar part was open but the rest hadn't been started to be rebuilt.

I'm workin' on it, my peeps ! I can't get anybody to commit ! The hubby says if we go to Stars, we can't go to MOTM too. So I'm workin' on getting a girl trip for Stars (it'll be cheaper) AND going to MOTM too. This is heavy complicated stuff, people. I'm using every brain cell here. 8)

I still have not heard the song. I put in a request to RM about an hour ago. Still waiting. This is what I get for not listening to the last couple of concerts.
I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.

I believe it's a rewind of the bars that cover Jimmy's stomping ground back in the day. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Sounds like maybe the guys who wrote it wrote it with Jimmy and the Floribama in mind.
