Sunshiny Saturday at the MSC
Good morning!
We both got up around 6:00, but after falling asleep on the couch at 9:00 pm, we got a good amount of sleep.
Yesterday's work was hell - worst day ever. Trying to fill in some of the dietician duties is killing me. Just too much on my plate.
We have already been to the grocery store. Have a Zoom meeting with an insurance consultant that we had a seminar with a few weeks ago. Still more Medicare stuff to learn.
Afterwards we'll hit the liquor store, then an early dinner.
Have a great Saturday!!

Re: Sunshiny Saturday at the MSC
Another record breaking day (and night) here in the Upper LH Corner. I broke down and cut a hole in the plastic covering one of our bedroom windows so that I could vent the portable AC through it and get the room down to sleeping temperatures last night, so it wasn't too bad.
The condos in the development we stay in when we go to Hawaii have their AC controls programmed to go no lower than 72ยฐ (due to high electric costs) . I was talking with one of the maintenance guys and said that we just couldn't sleep when it was that hot and he started laughing and said that he has to put an extra blanket on his bed to be able to sleep when it gets that cold....

Re: Sunshiny Saturday at the MSC
Hey folks!
Late start here at Carolina Cabana. But we finished washing down the rat or the outside wall that doesnโt get much sun. It was looking rather dingy with moss growing in some spots. What a different a Little water and a scrub brush make.
Itโs been dripping here off and on (from the sky -mot the hose we were using:)).
Today will not bw a beach or pool day but since itโs not hot thatโs ok.
We need a lot of rain to get the pond back to its normal depth. Since it was drained about 4โ feet thatโs going to take a lot of rain that weโre just not getting. At least with the breezes the algae has moved out.

Re: Sunshiny Saturday at the MSC
Aloha, peeps.
No sun, grey here and even a bit chilly. Rain is holding off until overnight, so we should be able to watch some fireworks for a wedding thing up the road tonight.
Weโve been re-watching The Sopranos all week and that got us in the mood for Italian food. So weโre having lasagna with meatballs and sausage, and Mr. Lime is working on a gorgeous charcuterie board. That will last us through football tomorrow, too.
Have a lovely day, BN!

Re: Sunshiny Saturday at the MSC
I was up at the normal time since I had to work today It's a clear, crisp sunshiny day here. I came home and started laundry , then I turned on the Texas game just in time to see them score just before halftime! I normally don't root for the Longhorns but since they're playing you know who, I'm rooting for them today...like Matthew McConaugHEY!
I'm going to put a beef roast in the insta pot and shred it up for Beef Taco Salad with green chili gravy for dinner tonight.
Tomorrow morning Bryan is getting a couple of tires put on the new car and then we're going to take his Mom to lunch.
I'm also going to start on the list for packing. We're leaving this Friday for our first vacation in a long time. Friday is also the second grandson's bday. He'll be 14. And the 15th will be our 46th Anniversary! So excited to celebrate in Maine!

Good afternoon. I just got my email about this month's Beer Of The Month club shipment and I have until 8:00pm Tuesday to make changes, and there will be at least one change made. One is a beer I've had before and I'm not paying shipping so I can have it again.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

Hi everyone!
Cool sunny day in Michigan. Inside chores are mostly done. Napped through some of the Michigan game and now listening to my Spartys play Maryland. I donโt have cable and wonโt pay a streaming service, although I might decide to do that for football season. Love watching college ball!
Debating cutting the grass. Adopted a dog for the night, so I may take advantage of the fact they they are currently relatively calm, and attempt it.
Or I might just nap on the couch

Hi there! We were going to a craft at the county fair grounds, but it drizzled rain, so up to Erie for Mexican. I got some craft wood to paint and the fun was done. Once home, I spent 2 hours under the house.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Re: Sunshiny Saturday at the MSC
Evening all. Had our meeting with the Medicare specialist. She's just awesome! She also checked all of the doctors I see (including Dentist and Eye doc) and they are all on Medicare's list. YAY!!
Per her instructions I opened an account with Social Security. However, it just spun and spun and spun, while it was "verifying my information".
Afterwards I tended to some laundry, then we went to the liquor store, then Hooters for dinner. Thought of you and Garry, Larry.
CU Buffs are playing Nebraska... so far it's not going CU's way.. So we're watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball. BUT - E is happy that OSU beat Arkansas today 39-31.

I can't believe you waited a day to do that! I would have cut that hole on night ONE!SeattleParrotHead wrote: โSeptember 7, 2024 12:00 pm Another record breaking day (and night) here in the Upper LH Corner. I guess it is what you get used to... BUT I'm right there with you! 72ยฐ is not comfy - at ALL In the summer we have the upstairs A/C set at 68ยฐand the downstairs at 70ยฐ
In winter our heat downstairs is set to the same 70ยฐ (and yes I wear T-shirts all year) while the upstairs is 63ยฐ if I can get away with it! But I often have to bump it up to 65ยฐ though. In the cold weather, I will actually use the blankets that I shove off of my side during the summer!

Unless it's some kind of Medicare Supplement plan, I don't think Dentist and Medicare go in the same sentence. It does pay for eye care (eye health), but not glasses.MsMod wrote: Had our meeting with the Medicare specialist. I find it ironic that three things that Medicare doesn't cover are teeth, glasses, and hearing aids. Those seem to be the three things that most of us retirees need most. It's good that it does cover new knees and hips though....

Sorry that you're not happy with your teams outcome today. Yours is not the only upset today. ND got knocked off by Northern Illinois and Iowa State took down Iowa! I love football
