Cheese Pizza THURSDAY @ the MSC
Good Morning!
I slept in until 7:30 which is late for me. Only thing planned here at Carolina Cabana is helping our friend Scott celebrate his 65th birthday this evening.
Although it's National Cheese Pizza Day we won't be celebrating as Scott has picked a seafood restaurant as his birthday dinner establishment .
Here's your useless triva knowledge for today:
On September 5th, National Cheese Pizza Day says, "Hold the toppings!" That's right, cheese is all you need when celebrating this pizza holiday. Whether the pie is homemade or ordered in, make it cheese only.
Add a variety of cheeses to your pie to celebrate. Smokey gouda or a little gorgonzola might mix it up. If you like a little cheddar, mild or sharp shredded across the top will do. Debates prevail over thin or thick crust. However, that debate is for another day. The cheese holds the spotlight on this occasion. In fact, thin-crust doesn't even have a day. How did that happen? However, deep-dish does. Check out April 5th for more information about it. And National Pizza Day gets piping hot on February 9th.

Good morning Linda and Nancy.
Pizza is one of my favorite foods but I won't be having any today. I'm drinking coffee and doing laundry now. After the dryer shuts off and everything is put away I'll probably just go to the park for a walk. It's a nice day, the temperature is about 75 degrees.

We have a heat warning here in the Upper LH Corner; expecting new records for this time of year, into the 90ยฐs.....
It may be hot outside, but they have Xmas stuff for sale at Costco. I imagine that Easter stuff soon to follow.

There's a department store here called Belk. They don't have their full blown Christmas display yet but they've had some tree ornaments out since last week.SeattleParrotHead wrote: โSeptember 5, 2024 11:02 am It may be hot outside, but they have Xmas stuff for sale at Costco.

Afternoon all!
Busy busy busy.. Finally a breather to eat some lunch. Then I had this co-worker who wanted to talk to someone here, and she was in a meeting, yet he sat here for over an hour. Then proclaimed he was going to go get some lunch.
Temps are in the mid 60's and it's wonderful!! Had some good rain yesterday afternoon/evening.
One more night that E is gone, and he'll be back tomorrow afternoon!
And I like cheese pizza enough, but it'd better be REALLY cheesy.

When I was out I lost reception on SiriusXM on my car radio. It didn't say NO SIGNAL, which happens occasionally, it just stopped playing and it said 0 RADIO ID. I tuned to a terrestrial radio station and it worked fine, but no satellite reception. When I got home I called customer service, got a recording and one of the things the mechanical voice asked was if I wanted a text message with a link to reset the radio. I said yes and they sent a text. I went downstairs, started the car, turned the radio on and clicked the link in the text message. Radio Margaritaville came right on. I tried a couple of other channels just to be safe and everything is working fine. Why can't all customer service problems be fixed that easily?

Good afternoon!
I gotta have SOMETHING else on my pizza besides cheese. Although I'll order double cheese along with toppings from time to time.
Putting a wrap on the work day. Like others, we've got a nice pleasant day going temp wise with fair amount of sun. Fall in the air at night lately....cool down coming friday & saturday before a warm backup.
Went ahead & scooped up tickets for the Michigan/Texas game Saturday. Hoping the Wolverines will be sending the Horns home unhappy come Saturday afternoon!
Have a good night gang!

I didn't have pizza today but I'm cooking a burger (on the stove, no grills allowed) so I shall have a beer. Burgers and beer go together just as well as pizza and beer.
I hope you can boot the boot Penny.

Re: Cheese Pizza THURSDAY @ the MSC
We had an early funeral that needed to be delivered by 9:00. So I had to go in at 8:30 to open the shop. It's my turn to work Saturday and usually I don't work Thursday if I work Saturday, but I offered to work a half day, so I was off at 1:00. Then I went to the BMV to register the new car and get the permanent license plate.
Probably no cheese pizza here today. We pulled some tomato basil bisque out of the freezer, so it's soup and a piece of toasted baguette

I had no idea it was cheese pizza day! I may just have to celebrate a day late, and have it for lunch tomorrow.
Larry, I am glad to know BELK is still open. I thought it was a good store when I lived in Charlotte. Is Ivey's still around also?
Not much happening Chez Soul as I was also doing the laundry thing. I was disappointed that the Para Olympic coverage did not show the long jump this afternoon... we know one of the competitors! We did follow the event online, and she finished just out of the medals, missed bronze by a mere 0.17 meters. She has another chance to medal on Saturday in the 100 meter race... fingers crossed for her!

Re: Cheese Pizza THURSDAY @ the MSC
Belk actually has 3 stores here - Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach and Murrells Inlet - but the Murrells Inlet location is a sad excuse for a department store. I like the one in Myrtle Beach, they have a pretty good selection of merchandise and it's in the best mall (if there is such a thing) in the area. I never heard of Ivey's so if they're still around they're not around here.Caribbean Soul wrote: โSeptember 5, 2024 8:55 pm Larry, I am glad to know BELK is still open. Re: Cheese Pizza THURSDAY @ the MSC
So, Larry - have you ever looked into an electric grill? E got one a few months ago, he adds wood chips and does the grilling, and it does add some char to the meats. (We can't have grills with flames here either).
Sooooo, the foot doc went well. Not completely without the boot, but I can wear tennis shoes to my car, drive, and then put the boot on after an hour or so at work. THAT makes me VERY happy that I'm not dealing with trying to put the boot on/off from sitting in the car.

Thanks! Belk and Ivey's were like the Macy's & Gimbels of Charlotte back in the '80s when I lived there.LIPH wrote: โSeptember 5, 2024 9:18 pmBelk actually has 3 stores here - Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach and Murrells Inlet - but the Murrells Inlet location is a sad excuse for a department store.
