Welcome to WEDNESDAY @ the MSC

Post by Saltx3 »

Good Morning All!

We may be getting some storms later today -- so I'll do some painting of 2 custom shelves our friend Scott made (one for one end of the island and the other for the open end of the kitchen counter. Just the right size for some cookbooks and small decorative v usable cutting boards.

We'll also head to the local Habitat ReStore to look for a second fridge for the garage so Kevin can get back to home brewing. We saw 2 yesterday; the larger one was already marked as "taken". The smaller one would work but not give us much extra space. We'll probably have to go every day they are open since their inventory changes that quickly. There's a couple in the townhome section of our community that moved from Lancaster County who have a pickup truck and have graciously offered to help us move anything we find :).

Have a great day !

I don't have a beer fridge but I have a beer shelf in my fridge. It's all about priorities.

Good morning!

We have a beer fridge, but E hasn't brewed in several years. So it gets used for beer and booze we buy. ;)

My two bosses are out. Instead of 10 of us in my office, there are 3 of us today.

Another busy day at work, and E is still in Louisiana.

I just got back from grocery shopping, have to get that senior citizen discount on Wednesday, and I remembered to put my wallet in my pocket today. Off to the honey store for some mead tasting.

Hi there! The worst of the crawl space is cleaned! The space I had to clean was so tight, I worried about getting stuck. I was 30 pounds lighter and 35 years younger when I put the insulation up.

I'm taking tomorrow off. :D

I did my mead tasting. I asked if I could substitute one of them, it was pumpkin flavored and I don't like pumpkin. They gave me something called Vanilla Hive Blend, I didn't taste any vanilla but I did taste coffee. It was pretty good. There was a lemon flavored mead called John Lemon, one that was supposed to be mimosa flavored (I didn't think it was) called Bee Mosa, a ginger flavored one that I really liked. This tasting was $16 for the 6 samples, the other one they have is $24. I don't know why it's more expensive, maybe higher alcohol content? [smilie=noeyedear-shrugging.gif] I'm going back in a week or so to try the other one.

I don't drink much these days, but some of those sound really good! Was honey in all the flavors?

I didn't taste any honey but maybe you lose the honey flavor in the fermenting process while the mead is being made. I'm not sure how it works.
