It would have to be Toyota Park or a small club. Tinley and Northerly Island are booked on July 8th. Wrigley is open, but there’s no way LiveNation would try to sell a 40,000 seat baseball stadium in an overlapping market two days later.

Making this more bizarre, Ticketmaster already has a page up for the Summerfest on-sale on the 31st. I guess they’ll sell and just offer refunds if it doesn’t happen? I’m still finding it hard to believe this show happens seven weeks after the health announcement.

When you click on the Jimmy show on the Summerfest site, it now says "More information will be provided at a later date regarding Jimmy Buffett & The Coral Reefer Band’s concert on Thursday, July 6 at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater".

Yeah we all saw this coming.

If you Google Jimmy Buffett Summerfest, you still get a page showing his show, but if you Google the main stage lineup, Jimmy is no longer listed.

Ah, but the scalpers are at it already. A "reseller" named TicketsCenter, will sell you seats (multiple seats are guaranteed to be together) for specific sections and rows at a highly inflated price for Jimmy's "maybe" show on July 6 at Summerfest. While Ticketmaster and Live Nation are bad enough in their own right, the scalpers are worse. The sections available tend to be, but are not always, less desirable so I guess they figure they will be able to offer seating in these sections, if and when the tickets do go on sale.

I was reading some speculation that this may still happen on very short notice, but Ticketmaster pulled the event page Friday. Previously it was still up with a message like “we’re working on an on-sale date for this event.”

A group named AJR is now headlining Summerfest on July 6th.
