Living In The Slow Lane SUNDAY@ the MSC

Post by bodypainter »

Good morning BN. We had horrific winds last night that kept me up, but today it's sunny and calm.

I have Buffett in my garage CD player and hear Slow Lane when puttering out there. I appreciate the line'" Half the fun is getting there."
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

GOOD MORNING BN !!

Hopefully you can get a nap later today Bill.

We have beautiful sunshine for the first time several days! I love looking out of our deck and seeing the sun through all the tall tree branches.

We will be heading to church later and then meeting some PHs that we met through a local mutual musician friend for some pizza. They were part of a local PH club that has is disbanded.

We hope to get some call-backs from a few tile contractors we have reached out to. We really want to get this shower issue behind us :(.

Good luck! Around here they're so busy you can't get any of them to even call back, let alone come and look at a job or do any actual work.

I know the voices in my head aren’t real, but sometimes they have really good ideas…..

Good morning. It's overcast and there are thunderstorms in the forecast so today will be an indoor day.

So True!

Just so sad that our original contractor has "ghosted" us....we are drafting a letter to him detailing the issues and suggesting he contribute to the new cost. We're having an attorney friend work with us on that (without mentioning any legal action).

Good morning all. Another morning of not sleeping in. Weird dreams. Of course when I have to go to work in the morning, I won't be able to wake up!

We were on the go all day yesterday. Mom visit, grocery shopping, laundry, dishes, the usual. Then Cameron asked for some help. His girl is moving in (we are very happy about this) and she just needed some help/support. So E and I went to the home she was living in with her grandma (who passed two weeks ago) and we got her clothes and shoes packed and moved into Cameron's garage for now. She's not getting any support from her parents, (especially her Mother). It took us all of an hour and got 90% of her stuff moved.

Then we ordered wings for dinner, picked them up, and scarfed them down. Cleaned up the dishes, and crashed on the couch for the rest of the night.

Today is sunny, but only 15 degrees. Some snow later and overnight.

Got some of the prep work done yesterday, but we're making this for breakfast. E's on biscuit cutting duty. :D

Afternoon BNers

We are taking the morning off...trying to get all the crap we brought and bought contained. How do dirty clothes take up so much more room????? Part is back in the car.

We are going to Disney Springs for dinner at the Boathouse tonight. And I will stay at DS for the last big SOUTHBOUND!! on the big stage. I have enjoyed all the music with friends. ❤️🎵❤️

Good afternoon gang!
We too are fortunate to get some bright sunshine for most of the day. However, early evening clouds move in with showers coming back & soaking us again overnight.
Been battling the squirrels getting on Lynn’s bird feeders this spring so installed a couple of baffles to see if it deters them. I’m not overly confident :-?
Think I’ll fire up the computer & do a couple tax returns.
Enjoy your Sunday Funday everyone

My dad had a squirrel he couldn't keep off the feeder which hung on a wire line. He hooked low voltage with a remote and shocked the culprit. The squirrel learned to eat on the ground under the feeder.

Just cracked open a beer as I get ready to watch the hockey game. It should be a good one, the Hurricanes are playing the Boston Bruins. The Bruins have had the best record in the league pretty much since opening day back in October and the Hurricanes have the second best record in the league. They've played twice so far this season and each team has won once.

The Hurricanes started life as the Hartford Whalers, this is their 25th season in Raleigh, and today's game is Whalers Night. The announcer said this is the 7th time they've worn Whalers uniforms and so far their record is 4-0-2. I know at least one of those games was against Boston, the first time they ever wore them 4 or 5 years ago, whatever year it was when the new owner bought the team.

So am I. They're not my #1 team, that would be the Islanders, but as a native NYer I can't root for a team from Boston.

Hooray! Our shower tile pattern from 2020 is still being sold so IF we only need a partial demo/redo we will have matching tile.
