Actually, I have in my calendar that tickets went on sale last year on 4/2/12.

Also, we can probably almost GUARANTEE he's not going to play at Northerly Island. C'mon people.

Like I said before, I like when the date gets announced so I can stop reading these absurd guesses.

This. There's no way he's playing Northerly Island. Let's not forget who we're dealing with here ($$).

It's going to be at Tinley, and we'll know when in the next 2 weeks.

If it's Charter One then I'll just do Alpine in August. The Buffett experience is all about tailgating first which is the majority of the fun (I love the music but how many time have we heard the same songs). I don't plan on "tailgating" at Margaritaville at Navy Pier at $8.50 for an 8 oz. frozen beverage or taking Metra down to linger at a crappy loop bar and sprint out to ensure I can't the last train out. As the previous post said, the Soldier Field tailgate scene is hell so I'll skip the $80 lawn ticket with a city view for the Alpine experience.

I thought about going to Alpine last year. Then I realized you basically can't find a hotel room within 15 miles of the place unless you book right when it's announced (or sooner). Forget it.

Phish is playing Charter One July 19-21. It looks like they vote on the expansion tomorrow. I have wanted to check this place out, would love to see Buffett there, but not sure how tailgating would work. Maybe they will let us camp on the grassy area? Maybe they will have shuttle busses take us from Soldier Field parking lots? :) Sorry if people don't like the speculation...nothing else to do while we wait. I just want to put some dates to the stuff we are planning! Common Bubba!!! Spring has not come yet and we need some dates to break this cabin fever!

Come on James! This is worse than FMBA!!! Once they announced the expansion I knew this was coming but was hoping it wouldn't! I think he's going to have a reeeaallllyyy hard time getting this place full since he couldn't half fill the hill at FMBA last year. This isn't a novelty location, it's a pain in everyone's ass. And don't forget everyone, add $15 plus for city taxes on top of the already inflated ticket price!

I don't get it. And I am not sure I really want to do this one, especially in its first year--seems like lots of opportunities for problems.

Wow :o
Well, I- for one -am totally thrilled that he's playing Northerly Island! Good God, people- the man is 66 years old. He's not gonna be around forever. I don't give a rat's ass about some extra per ticket tax the city will tack on or how bad parking/transportation is.... I'm just damn glad that he's still playing. Period.
I will see him any day, any place, any time. AND- I'll make the friggin' best of it! [smilie=gt-happyup.gif]

Some people can't afford the $150+ concert ticket. Take a date or spouse your now looking for at least $300 for tickets. City amusement tax alone is another 12%. So that is over 30 bucks right there not to mention all the "service" charges. If he was worried about his "fans" maybe he would not overcharge for the shows. Sounds like a good idea to me. Though I am sure Emperor Rahm probably made some sort of deal with the almighty JB when Jimmy put his restaurant inside Navy Pier. But how many people are going to be able to afford the amount the city charges for parking? Let alone, most of the suburbs--- especially the people who live right near the world in Tinley Park aren't going to be able to take a train due to the nonexistence of trains that late at night.

Get to the city much? Try every day. Go down for a Bears game and you will be paying $60 to be in a lot where you can tailgate. Curbside parking downtown is now over $5 an HOUR. with usually a 3 hour limit.
