I also grabbed 2 premiere parking permits - are they worth it? I figured it was worth the risk.
Also, I have heard scary things about the Jones Beach parking lot . . . that the troopers have been cracking down on friendly imbibing recently. I was last at JB for JB around 2005 and it was a blast. Any truth to that?
Thanks!
The troopers drive around but will not bother you at all. Last year they came by our tiki bar set up and said they were taking the day off next year so they can drink with us! Use a blue cup and you will be fine

The state park police are like the police at any other venue - they'll give you a hard time if you give them a reason to. Pour your drinks in a cup, don't walk around with a beer bottle in your hand, you'll be fine.
As for the parking permits, I've never done it but I think it's a waste of money. You have to pay to park at the beach anyway and it doesn't get you in any earlier. It's the beach, once the lots are open they can't stop you from going in whether you're there for the concert or the beach.
Looks like this will be our only show this summer, so I had to pay the price when something decent popped up after getting alternating "sold out" messages and seats waaaaay off to the sides. Nothing turned up for pairs in the front orchestras for me, so 9L was about as good as I was going to get. I like the center low stadium 1 seats more than the back orchestra anyway. We'll be just high enough to see over the soundboard.
I sat in that section two years ago. Row E if I remember correctly and it was a GREAT seat! Yes, you can see right over top of the sound board.
Wasn't that the ticket you got from me -I remember you saying it was a great seat
Last year was our first with the NYS 4 wheel drive beach pass, so we spent a few weekends driving on, and spending the day on the beach so we are all prepared for our first "good" tailgate - pop-up canopy, folding table, porta-potty with privacy cabana, grill, etc. Looks like it's get there early, find a good corner and settle in!
Maybe afterwards, spend the night over on Democrat Point.
One more question . . . how long post show do they let you stay in the parking lot?

Weather great today on Long Island! About 80 degrees. Tonight was a great last winter Friday Night. We had cold white wine with grilled fish tacos. We played a major ladder ball tournament in the backyard which Lil Salty became the victor! So much fun. The weather is here! How many days to Jones Beach?
