So Long January @ the MSC
Good Morning all!
Yesterday our high temp was 51 -- I was almost ready to bring my flip flops out from the closet.
But nooooooooooo -- today's high is 36 (I know that's warmer than some of you will see today but still.
Got new office furniture yesterday. Not sure why except the Twp Manager felt I needed it ? I must admit it is really nice. They know my length of employment may be short-lived (at least until Kevin retires in June of next year).
Have a fantastic day everyone!

Good morning, sistah and BN.
We got a bit of snow last night so first order of business is to get out there with the pup, he loves playing in it. After coffee.
End of the week we get into sub-zero weather.
Happy Tuesday, y’all.

Good morning, Linda and Nancy. I'm always glad to see January finished.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Good morning. It was very foggy earlier this morning, now it's very overcast. There's only supposed to be a 20% chance of rain today but it sure looks like they'll be wrong about that.

Dealing with stupidity at work. SSDD.
And those of you dealing with your elderly parents and driving, been there, done that. It was the hardest thing to do to take the keys away from ours. Luckily they understood.

We had a bit of snow over the weekend. Not TOO much. But this morning when I opened the door, there was about 2" that none of the weather forecasters said anything about! Luckily it was just powdery, not icy, not slushy.

There's a brewery called Southern Hops in Florence, SC, about 60-65 miles west of here. They opened a second location in Murrells Inlet, about 10 miles away, late last year. I'm having a burger and a frosty adult beverage there now. For those of you who aren't big beer drinkers, there's an app called Untappd where you can check in the beers you drink and add a location to your check in. I checked in the beer I was having and Southern Hops is listed as "Church, Brewery". I guess I'm having a religious experience.

When my father went into assisted living I told him I was going to sell his car. He started yelling at me that I couldn't do that, it was his car and he could still drive. I reminded him I had Power of Attorney and could sign over the title for a nickel if I wanted to. He calmed down pretty quickly.

Re: So Long January @ the MSC
Daddy had taken Ryan with him to the morning coffee group. On the way home, he was stopped driving too fast in a school zone. When he got home, he gave my Mother his keys. He realized he could have hurt Ryan.
When my Mother went to the first assisted living, we didn't take her car for her and we didn't move her car to OK, so that was easy.

Re: So Long January @ the MSC
Mrs SPH's grandmother (MIL's mother) was still living on her own and driving in her 90's. She lived in San Francisco, and she'd drive her 30-year-old Ford Falcon downtown to go shopping but then she'd forget where she parked. After too many trips to the city to help look for Nana's car, the family had to take her keys away. Nana passed on at 99...
I know the voices in my head aren’t real, but sometimes they have really good ideas…..

My Great Grandpa had a car and was 90+. The family got together and decided he needed to stop driving. My GGpa liked my Daddy. So Daddy went to GGpa and told him he needed a car for work. He didn't. But GGpa sold him his car. Problem solved.

My balls are purple
and they're wet
with purple paint.
I use 4 1" wooden balls on a pivoting sign post as spacers between the signs.

at the time)
We went through that with my father-in-law. He hardly drove anyway, but when his license needed to be renewed we told him he had to go for an eye test at the RMV, So, between that being a very difficult task (he was like ninety~ish at the time and would not be able to stand in a long line) AND the $$$ he'd save on insurance, he consented to apply only for an ID card instead and sell his vehicle to the husband of one of his caretakers.LIPH wrote: ↑January 31, 2023 3:08 pmWhen my father went into assisted living I told him I was going to sell his car.
