I'd consider a Wrigley show depending on the date,

Cubs have a home game on 8/12 vs. Atlanta.

The cubs are in Arizona on 8/12

HA, I had Googled Cubs 2017 schedule and the Cardinals 2017 schedule showed up in Google images as the 2nd image so I assumed that was correct. I didn't bother to cross reference. I just trusted Google and now that trust is forever broken.

I can see Green Day playing at Wrigley on Sunday 8/13 between their Omaha and Maryland Heights, MO shows.

That would of course still leave the possibility of Jimmy on Saturday 8/12. However, Billy Joel on a Fri, Jimmy on a Sat and Green Day on a Sunday might be a bit unrealistic from a production standpoint.

I also just noticed that the cubs are back home on Monday 8/14, so I doubt anyone would play that Sunday.

Really no different then a concert venue , one band out the next one in . I don't think it's an issue. The only issue is , The Cubs play home the next day , and getting the field playable in a day or 2 could be tough.

Surely we will know this week. I know JB's people like to keep these all a secret (not sure why), but this isn't just a normal show.

Either way...I am there!
Someday I will.

Final Tour Stops:
-Dublin, Ireland 9.21.19 - SOASOAS (33)
-Red Rocks 9.9.21 - Slack Tide (34)
-Raleigh 4.23.22 - Life on the Flip Side (35)
-Charlotte 4.30.22 - Life on the Flip Side (36)

Wonder if he might try a Memorial Day weekend show. Cubs are away and it's a three day weekend so he could fit in two shows. The only issue is it's earlier in the year, but I think it'd be warm enough by late May (hopefully). It would also put a sizable gap between then and September, so maybe, just maybe, Buffett could also do a Labor Day Alpine show. I know he was in Chicago mid-June last year and the Cubs are away that weekend too. Curious to see how this plays out. He usually holds out announcing Alpine, but I feel like Wrigley would have to be announced sooner.

Memorial Day would be tough. It could be done but the show would almost have to be on Monday. The Cubs have a day game Thursday so the load in would have to start probably after dark that night. Building a stage in a stadium takes a couple of days minimum. That, the audio delay towers and power being run has to be assembled and in place before the actual tour starts doing rigging, building sets onstage, hanging audio, video and lighting etc. Plus you've got the field itself which will have to be covered with plastic flooring which is usually handled by stadium personnel and is no small task. Ampitheatres and arenas aren't a huge deal to load in over several hours but a stadium is a much bigger production.
It was too much tequila . . . . or not quite enough.

Most likely if he's playing Wrigley it will be the same weekend as one of the shows that are already scheduled there. They usually try to schedule shows there together while the Cubs are out of town, minimizing the work to get the field concert ready.

That's true regarding the setup and take down on Memorial Day. It would be pretty difficult. I suppose that's just wishful thinking on my part. I'd love both an Alpine and Wrigley show. Who knows what will happen though. In 2005 he didn't do Alpine after Wrigley, but Ricketts is the Cubs owner now and may not have a problem with him doing an Alpine show too. Not like Wrigley won't be sold out for a Buffett show. Looking at the shows scheduled, a concert on July 14th weekend makes a lot of sense. The week prior is the All-Star break which provides ample time for setup. James Taylor and Jimmy would seem to fit together

I know I'm a brand new poster, so I (understandably) lack credibility, but I can tell you with certainty that it will be July 15. Tickets will go on sale this week.

Already planning on getting my tickets and hotel room. It's not Alpine, but after the WS win Wrigley should be buzzing!
