Based on my research this morning seems tonight show there are about 10 tickets left.

With him playing three nights there this weekend - you would imagine him busting out all sorts of gems. Maybe? Always still my hope.

Whatever happened to the Door # 3 contest? I know towards the end of last years tour he basically dropped that and the showcasing of albums.
However, I imagine a lot of phans voted for their Door # 3 song and he would somehow work the top 10 of that list into this years new tour. It is obviously songs that people want to hear. I guess myself and others on here are only in the 5-10% of people that want to hear these types of songs.

I have said it before and I will say it again - Jimmy owes it to himself before it is all said and done to do a rarities tour. He needs to believe more in his work and know that the true phans will always be there. In other news, my mom-in-law got me tickets for Escape to Mville in May. Looking forward to checking that out and getting back into NYC.

Fins up!

The problem with he owes it to himself and doing the rarities , he's not playing for the core fans , but he's trying to get a whole generation of new fans , who only know the standards . He has hotels , casinos and restaurants he needs to keep filled. Sad but true. I'd love him to do some deeper cuts. If I didn't hate going to NYC , I'd love to see the Musical. Hopefully it comes off Broadway to CT , other musicals have done or still do. Even Boston would work.

I agree with you to some extent. However, I do think he owes it to himself as an artist that has been around for over 40 years. I forget what interview it was a long time ago but Jimmy said it if were up to him he would play the ballads. I don't think one year off of a different type of tour will cause a collapse in the whole business of Mville. The young, new fans will still be there. I mean Margaritaville made over 2 billion dollars last year. And, I bet, a majority of that money comes from people who have never attended a Jimmy concert or have never heard of another song besides Mville. Also, there is no doubt that the casual fan only knows the yellow album and majority at the concert want to hear just that. I also do think there is some odd miscommunication between Jimmy and the PHANS. I think Jimmy feels he is playing for both. The fact is you can't please everyone and you can't play every song that he has recorded. Jimmy has reached the LEVEL of LEGEND now. He has nothing else to prove and can easily do what he is doing. It is what people have now always come to know. I remember my friend leaving a concert who I would consider a very casual fan - upset at the fact that he didn't play WDWGDS. I guess my ramble and point and maybe my own dream is that one day Jimmy does the gems. I would pay TOP TOP dollar to go to those shows.

Fins up and happy Friday

He would have to do smaller venues, he would be playing to a core base of fans ( spread all over the US and beyond) , and raise ticket prices ( unless he does it for the love of playing) , not that he needs the money. I don't think he would sell out venue after venue , year in and year out if he went deep into the Library. And I agree , I'd pay top dollar for a show , with songs , other then the standards , we hear every show.
