Here's my thinkin...
I sat on the beach in Anguilla not more than 15 feet from Jimmy as he played for almost two hours. He played both songs. The song I'm voting for is the one that gave me chills on an 85 degree day in the tropics; the song that had everyone in attendance, even Jimmy's roadies and Charleston his bodyguard, singing along....
I vote for A Pirate Looks At 40.

40 is waaaaaaaaaay better than 39. When you say you are 39 everyone assumes you are already well into your 40's and just lying about being 39. It's called JackBennyitis in the psychology journals.TIKIboy wrote:APLAF is a no-brainer for me this year...turning 40, 2 months from today. Now it has more meaning than ever before.
And yes ......... Jack Benny was a PIRATE too!

As far as "live" songs go, there is nothing more electric in concert than One Particular Harbour. Nothing!
A Pirate Looks @ 40 is no doubt a great song, but I personally think it pales in comparision. OPH all the way!!! Only 18 votes behind, it could still happen.
But there's this one particular harbor
So far but yet so near
Where I see the days as they fade away
And finally disappear...
But now I think about the good times
Down in the Caribbean sunshine
In my younger days I was so bad
Laughin' about all the fun we've had
