I will be going to Jones Beach for the second time!!!!

(First time, about 15 years ago, I had third row tickets, only to get there and find that they had been invalidated. I got my money back but was bummed. And we may have snuck into the venue after that...oops.)

If anyone has thoughts on how to get to/from Jones Beach from NYC (probably Times Square area) please let me know. Would also be willing to split transportation with some people if you're down. Or if you want to save some rum for me at your tailgate, I'll buy you several bottles in return!

Also, if you're a single and want to split premium $$$ tickets with me (because you can usually only find pairs), let me know.

I'm 39, but as you can see from my user info I'm an old timer here Holy cow, have I really been on BN for 20 years?!

Oh boy, I forgot how much fun the transportation was from NYC...

Looks like LIRR will get me there, but the Freeport stop closes before concert end. Can anyone suggest a best way for me to get back to NYC after the show? Thanks!

The LIRR gets you to Freeport, not to Jones Beach. There used to be a bus from the Freeport LIRR station to Jones Beach but I haven't lived on LI for almost 10 years so I don't know if that bus is still running. And are you sure the Freeport station closes at night? I was a daily commuter to Penn Station for 13 years, the LIRR always ran 24 hours a day. Sometimes you might have to wait an hour or more if you're traveling late at night but the trains were still running.

Thanks! Yes I confirmed that there will be a bus connecting Freeport to JB. Sadly the Freeport stop ends at like 9. Research indicates an Uber ride to the Babylon stop ($40) might not be a bad option, as it will be open. There must be a better way though.

Uber to Wantagh station.. trains are every 1/2 hour at that time... Never go to Freeport at that time of night..
