How to: Show an image below my username (Avatar)

1. Log in using your username and password.

2. Click on "User Control Panel" near the top of the page

3. Click on "Profile" in the left hand column

4. Click on "Edit Avatar" in the left hand colum

In the field called "Link off-site:" enter the URL address of the picture you want to link to. You should include the name of the gif or jpg file. Your avatar size should not exceed 140 x 140 pixels.

Example enter:
http://www.buffettnews.com/gallery/albu ... oprint.jpg

An avatar is the image you can have displayed under your name on the left that appears with every post you make

Any picture you want to post that is not Buffett related should be uploaded to the "User Gallery" (so upload you avatars there).

Just a kind reminder to our "Newbie" friends to the site.. if your avatar is too big?? It makes people have to scroll to the right in order to read the posts.

PLEASE, PLEASE!!

Your avatar size should not exceed 140 x 140 pixels.

If you're not sure about the size of the pic in your avatar?? Right click over the picture - go to 'Properties' then 'Dimensions'...

If the pic is larger than 140x140 - it takes up too much space on the posts, and people with smaller monitors have to scroll to the right in order to read the posts.

And it's generally the pics in the avatars that are the problems.. not in your sig line.

I collect lighthouses. Mostly large lighted ones, but small ones too. I thought it was my mermaid, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, I loved that, now I lost the link, I dont suppose you know which one it is? since your the moderater.

I have tons of them in my house too.

And no, I don't know what the link was.

Once it's gone, no one is able to view/retrieve it.
