Looking for a certain version of a song

Post by urlcenter »

I am hoping someone here on BN can help me out, sometime ago I created a collection rare and hard to find Buffett songs called Treasure Box. Treasure Box has been available for download via jokelben for several year at this point and over time I have expanded it as I find other rare Buffett recordings.

There is however a certain song not in the collection that I have longed to add to it. The song in question is the radio edit version of A Pirate Looks at 40 that was released on 45rpm. This version of A Pirate Looks at 40 is 30 seconds shorter at 3:27 verses the album versions running time of 3:57. The shorting of the song was accomplished by dropping the third verse (I go for younger women...).

The Treasure Box collection contains all of Jimmy radio edits except for the above mentioned A Pirate Looks at 40 version.

I am hoping that someone here at BN might have this version in their Buffett music collections and would be so kind as to make a copy available

Thanks

I have an extended collection from 21 years of collecting I may have it. It will take a while but I'll look. It may have been in real player format. Give me a few days to go through my recordings. Hopefully I labeled it.

I know the voices in my head aren’t real, but sometimes they have really good ideas…..

We don't have that show on jokelben we do have the 1999 Madison Square show on the server. When it comes to shows prior to March 4, 1999 finding them can be hit or miss. This is due to the fact shows were not streamed live on Radio Margaritaville prior to March 4, 1999 obtaining shows earlier then this depends on whether there are bootlegs in someone's personal collections that they want to share.
