I use mine all the time, too. I have a 'good copy' of both of them, and then a very 'used' copy of the last printing. Spilled a margarita on that one. Seems fitting. 8)

We should do another printing .... :D
EGADS! What happened to the edit option?

I was going to add "late April Fools" .... :o

I use mine quite frequently too......I also gave a few copies as gifts, one quick story...............I gave one to my sil a few years ago, last summer, she was looking for a recipe to bring to a dinner party she was attending, she called me and said "I was going thru the Parrothead cookbook you gave me and I found a recipe of yours that I'm going to use, the party potatoes," I laughed and told her it was her daughter's recipe. she got a good laugh out of it too. So last week she called me and said she may/may not be able to come to dinner at my house for Easter. I said ok, I understood. Later she called me back and left a message that she was in fact coming for dinner and she would bring the potatoes. I called her back and left her a message stating that was great, and that I know there's a great potato recipe in the Phruitcakes cook book. She brought the party potatoes today, and they were deelish.

I still think Jen's, SGH roasted potatoes are the BEST! :)

Tiki Bar wrote:So here it is, 6 years later, and celebrating all that is amazing with the Phruitcakes in the Kitchen cookbook! :D :D :D

Everyone in my family has a copy of the first edition, including some nephews and neices. The cookbook includes some family classic recipes that I had contributed and are nice to have handy, as well as some that became new family traditions as soon as we tried them.

This is yesterday... my sister looking at page 56... East Texas Parrothead's Sweet Potato Casserole, and reading the ingredients to my brother-in-law to add to the grocery list:

And here's Linds, pointing out her recipe on page 103 with pride and laughter:

Phruitcakes in the Kitchen was a wonderful thing, and still is! As is it's follow up, Phruitcakes in the Kitchen II, with 300 additional recipes:

Sweet Potato Casserole is on page 95 of the 2nd edition, and is just big yummy with an Easter ham!

Lindsey Sundae is page 210.

Thank you once again, to EVERYONE involved in putting together both editions, and to all who contributed recipes. Lots of good good stuff in them, and lots of warm fuzzy memories with the good things they did in the memory of some special people.
Still love the sweet potato casserole! This was funny to dig up this morning! Good memories!
You’re still grinning, we’re still winning, nothing left to say

Are there any more copies of this available? I'd love to buy one.

After we sold out, we turned the account over to Friends of Caroline Hospice.

I use mine frequently ... especially for salsa, dips and sy's cookies!
