National Fajita THURSDAY @ the MSC
Good Morning Everyone!
Today is National Fajita Day ....I could eat a few but we don't have the ingredients in the house so this meal will be for dinner next week.
On August 18th, National Fajita Day recognizes the sizzling deliciousness of the savory Tex-Mex flavor found in fajitas.
In the early 1930s, Mexican vaqueros in Southwest Texas developed what we’ve grown to love all over the United States. Using throwaway cuts of beef, they developed the fajita. However, it wasn’t long before they became a staple in the region. These cowboys cooked the steak over an open fire or grill. Once cooked, they served it with flour or corn tortillas. In later years, fresh Pico de gallo, guacamole, and southwestern spices elevated the fajita. Soon the convenient meal for hardworking cowboys made an introduction to new audiences. The fajita became a destination food in the culinary world.

Good morning, Linda and Debbie. I lie Mexican, but have never ordered fajitas.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Good morning Linda, Deb, Bill, and BN!
No Fajita's for me, thanks. I don't like the peppers and onions.
Had a nice dinner with E's Mom last night, along with her best friends daughter and son-in-law (they all grew up in Southern IL and now live in CO) Mom should be able to see Roberta today.
Back to the grind here..

Good morning. I like fajitas but I haven't had one in several years. We have a few Mexican restaurants in town, maybe I should go to one of them.

Good Morning Gang!
Fajita's....sure why not! 2 weeks ago went out for a Sunday brunch & friends' wife said the place had great fajitas. Was all set to order that but then I scanned something else on the menu. Captain Crunch Chicken Fingers. So intrigued I went that route. Oooops. I anticipated more crunch and/or sweetness. May consider trying to head out & rock the fajitas tonight!! It's not too far from my brewery & it is member mug night!

Good afternoon all. No fajitas tonight. I have left over pork loin so I'm making myself tacos al pastor.
Jeannette doesn't care for that so she's getting a stuffed pork chop. (insert fat guy joke here)
My eldest daughter and her husband recently got back from their honeymoon trip to Spain and the south of France.
They loved it and had no travel issues.

Afternoon BNers
Our primary cable has been off for awhile. Larry is on the phone with then. Doesn't sound like it is going well.
Astros started 4 min ago. and we got nothing. Could be a long day. But it is very quiet....
I need a nap.

ATT can have someone come out MONDAY. Monday??
Can we do without service until then? Guess we have to.
Our TVs are on from the time we get up until we go to bed. Can't deal with a quiet house. .

I had a second beer with my fajitas, Los Bravos Lager from the Terrapin ATL Brew Lab. The Terrapin ATL Brew Lab is a subsidiary of Terrapin Beer in Athens, GA. The Brew Lab is inside the ballpark where the Atlanta Braves play.

It is RAINING!
Not hard but we will take any that falls. Hope it continues awhile.

Afternoon All.
Nice article from the U.S.A. Today......good to see my "close to" home town made the list, and also Apalachicola where we are now. Took a ride today up the Apalachicola river and was surprised at home many river side bars there were. We stopped at a few, and may head back that way tomorrow (weather permitting) and hit those we missed. Rode all the up the river to where it met the St. Mark's river which my GPS indicated would take me back to the Gulf of Mexico so we did it. Not much there but an interesting and relaxing ride all the same.
Back at the Marina and going to head to the "Facilities". The restaurant / bar here was amazing last evening. Great "Local" Oysters and a Grouper Rueben which may have been the best I ever have had. Band was "OK" with a different band playing tonight. We just enjoyed the summer breeze at the bar, with a few cocktails. Going to "Repeat" this evening. Off to wash the stink off.
and Molly, treat yourself.......go to the local sports bar tonight to watch the Stro's...
Enjoy the evening All
