Good morning, Ken and everyone!
Great way to open the MSC today Wishing I could roadtrip to Cleveland to hang out. Our Pine Knob parking lot fun was cut short by work and all the cold dreary rain. Bummed yesterday's sunny and 70's weather wasn't a day early.
Slept in this morning and now enjoying not having to watch the clock to have to be ready for work. Gonna run some errands and begin putting summer stuff away
Have a great day, all!

Good morning Ken, Melissa and Tammy.
Good morning to everyone else who stops by.
I remember rolling skating to that song on many Saturdays.
Starting to slowly remove the summer plants and flowers from our little flower beds. Makes me sad but at least it’s not 90 degrees.

Morning, Linda! Glad you got to spend time with that Grumpy guy and Bets in FLA. I need to do the de-summering thing here as well and move my houseplants back inside. We repotted and propogated the philodendrons and spider plants this summer. I have like literally 25 potted plants now. I have no idea where they are going to end up so they are protected from cats who want to check them out. I am hoping for at least two or more nice days to enjoy the patio before I need to pack it up for the winter. It is rainy here today so that is my excuse for avoiding it at least one more day......Saltx3 wrote: ↑September 25, 2021 8:34 am Good morning Ken, Melissa and Tammy.

Morning, peeps.
No big plans in Limeville, just some chores and then heading out to shop for area rugs. Whee. But we'll stop somewhere fun for lunch, too.
Happy show day to those going.

Good morning.
I had the chili cookoff last Saturday, today is Moo & Brew. It's a burger and beer festival, 12 local restaurants cooking burgers and a bunch of breweries. They claim there will be 100+ different beers, I'm sure I'll be able to find something I haven't tried yet. It starts at 12:30 but that's the VIP admission. I didn't pay the extra $15 so I have to wait for general admission at 2:00. There's live music too, 4 or 5 different acts. The headliner is someone named Mitchell Tenpenny. I've heard the name but I don't know any of his music.

Set back. Temp hit 103. Went to lab for covid, flu and bloodwork. Not sure if infection or reaction from chemo. Fatigue today but temp below 100.

Re: S.A.T.U.R.D.A.Y @ the MSC
There was a guy at the Moo & Brew Festival wearing a t-shirt with the Sesame St. logo on it and it said Sesame Brewing. That was about the highlight of the day, I was very disappointed. When they first started advertising the festival it was 12 burger restaurants and 200 beers. That became 10 burger restaurants and 100+ beers. There was 7 burger restaurants and one of them was vegan. They didn't have anywhere close to 100 beers - 23 breweries (I walked around and counted) and only two of them had more than 2 beers. I'd say at least 10 of them only had 1 beer. This was the first time they had the festival here, apparently it's an annual thing in Charlotte, NC. If they do it here again next year I'll pass.
I had 2 of the burgers, one with chili, bacon and cheddar and one with guacamole, jalapenos and ghost pepper sauce. They were both really good.

Last day here in Alaska, with nothing but time on my hand as my flight isn't until 9:00 PM this evening. Took a ride about 40 miles south of Anchorage to the Alyeska Resort as I heard the view from the bar was amazing. The drive there rides along the Turnagain Arm, a waterway which connects the Cook Inlet to the Pacific. Very scenic. The road had many places to turn off and take photos, which I took advantage of. On one turn out, I noticed something in the water, which turned out to be a Beluga Whale. Tried like heck to get a picture, but this is the best I got. It just seemed that it wouldn't come up in the same spot.

Re: S.A.T.U.R.D.A.Y @ the MSC
Sunday has dawned here, sunny but cold. Just above freezing.
Yesterday we had to go to the big smoke. The nearest big town is Gawler (pop. 23500) about 20 km's away (~12 mi). The visit was for 5 new tyres on the ute, plus we finally found a pet and stock feed place that has the right food and cat litter. They are very knowledgeable and helpful. Then some normal shopping.
After we got home and Toni had a spell, we wandered up the hill a bought some eggs from one of our neighbours up there.
This morning we are having locally brined and smoked bacon (eye bacon, not that stuff you guys call bacon) and fresh free range cackleberries on sourdough toast made from bread from the bakery down the hill. I'll probably have a little chilli BBQ sauce made in the next town too.
I think we are getting a handle on this rural town living business.
This week has some looming milestones.
Thursday is the day we pick up the keys to the new house. I guess me and the ute will once again become beasts of burden moving boxes to and fro over the next few weeks.
Friday is the first day in a new job at work, although I have heard through the coconut telegraph that there are some internal ructions because pretty much all of my current team have found new roles in the company and there will be no one left after Thursday - I suppose the manager two levels up should have thought about that before he decided to stuff everyone around and generally being unaware of how the type of work we do is actually done (and how the customers expect it to be done). Apparently he is trying to block everybody's transfers. That can only end well .
