I have had alopecia since I was a little girl. Hair on my head in patches, no eyebrows or eyelashes. Very little body hair but I do have to shave my pits and legs every now and then. Hair is overrated! I have worn a wig (when I choose to) since I was 22. My daughter's never knew me with hair, but my Bryan has been my champion through it all. Much love coming your waylime rickie wrote: ↑September 23, 2021 6:13 pmI do, thank you, getting lots of good vibes from all around. Not a big pill person (surprising, I know ). But I filled everything to have it on hand just in case.melon59 wrote: ↑September 23, 2021 6:07 pmGurrl....take anything and everything that they can give you to get through. Gorgeous, breezy autumn day in Limeville.
Third chemo session done, nine to go. Single digits, baby. Sh!ts getting real with the side effects. Have the devils lettuce, and there are pills for just about everything, nausea, pain, etc. But there is nothing for the brain fog. Have never felt so slow and stupid.
The chemo seems to be targeting my skin cancer, too. So wherever I have one of those looming is getting red and ulcerated. I was expecting to lose my hair but this is a surprise. I look like a scabby, post-apocalyptic cube ball headed zombie. Hallowe'en Walking Dead costume. Hoping that will be over quickly.

For those that haven't heard yet, Dave a/k/a as the bad brother, a/k/a scooter boy, a/k/a Z, has passed away. This was probably the last time the 5 of us were together at our favorite spot at the tree at Hogs Breath.
I'm going to miss my (bad) brother from another mother.

And here I was going to make a Smart A$$ remark about SP being in the house, so nobody make any Drag Racing jokes and you spring this kinda news on us.
Well, I have a cold beer in my hand, so might as well lift it in his honor. Been awhile, but miss our time traveling around and surprising the BN'ers at shows around the country, and all the fun that went with it. Also the nights when I came to Chicago and we would meet up a Hooters for beers.
Too many memories of some of the crap we pulled off. Here's too you Zero......Rest in Peace......Cheers.

One of the breweries is on what they call the Nautical Mile in Freeport, it's all bars and restaurants along a creek. It isn't the greatest neighborhood in the world but there have always been some nice places to hang out there with a beer and a burger going back to the '70s when I was in college. That one may be my first stop.bodypainter wrote: ↑September 23, 2021 5:49 pmIsn't it great to have the biggest decisions in life be where to eat and drink?LIPH wrote: ↑September 23, 2021 3:36 pm I'm leaving for Long Island next Thursday for my high school reunion and I've been doing some searching on the 'net. I found 6 breweries within about 6 or 7 miles of the hotel where I'm staying. Two of them have the same address so maybe it's the same owners but different styles of beer? There's also a chain restaurant I never heard of, BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse, that brews its own beer. From the address, it's either in the Green Acres Mall or right outside and that mall is a couple of miles from the house I grew up in so it'll be easy to find. There's one I'd really like to try, it's called Long Ireland Brewing, but I won't be making the trip for that one. It's about 30-35 miles east of the airport, my flight gets in at noon and the brewery doesn't open until 3:00. I'd have time to kill, then more than an hour drive to the hotel. I like beer but I'm not making that trip.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

He was part of that hotel experience in Indy with myself and E.
That as after the night of drinking with Ann (IUParrothead) and the whole Gumby thing. I will never forget checking out that morning and telling the front, "I am checking out of room XXX, the room is a mess, there are two guys in there that I don't know, and the toilet is clogged".

Re: Show Day THURSDAY@ the MSC
I wasn't there. I had flown from Detroit to Fort Lauderdale and had forgotten my driver's license of all things. I had top status with Northwest airlines at the time so getting on the plane was not issue. I made as far as the Hilton in Fort Lauderdale, but National Car Rental wouldn't rent me the car without a driver's license. Dave was going to drive all the way to pick me up, but I declined his invite and just hung at the hotel for a few days and made reservations to go back home. It was on that trip that he rented the scooter and crashed. I think he hit a light pole, wasn't it?
