Re: Walk Ins Welcome WEDNESDAY@ the MSC
Early Friday morning (around 1 AM) we received South Australia Health approval to enter South Australia (SA). 8 AM Friday we reapplied to SA PoliceL for our entry permits using the SA Health exemption.
Early afternoon Friday we got police approval.
Saturday was spent sorting, packing, putting cats into boarding, arranging transport for the cats, etc.
Sunday at sparrow's fart we left. We got stopped several times by NSW Police on our way towards Lithgow (the edge of Greater Sydney). Once at the checkpoint at Lithgow we were 'interviewed' by a copper whose mission was to turn around anyone who did not have a reasonable excuse to leave Sydney.
Put simply, we buried him with all of our paperwork. To which he said "you seem to be prepared".
Two and a half days driving later we hit the final hurdle - the border checkpoint into SA.
The coppers there checked all of the paperwork, gave us a spiel about quarantining and welcomed us to SA.
We are now into day two of our 14 day quarantine at our new place in the Barossa.
We heard today in a press conference that the SA government has essentially stopped processing permits in the last few days.
I guess we finally got a break.
