Re: RM - Thank You!

What an unorthodox business plan...... Give away your music for free and maintain a video streaming service to broadcast live shows as they happened. Any bean counter would have told Jimmy that he was crazy to provide free concerts live, as that would dilute and reduce attendance at the shows and, s...

Re: RIP - Jimmy Buffett

My wife and I were in southwest Wisconsin with family this weekend and I decided that as we drove home to the southwestern Chicago suburbs where we live that we would stop at Alpine Valley to pay our respects to Jimmy. Hanging on the closed gate to the main parking lot were flip flops, beach balls, ...

Re: RIP

He's performing a "Labor Day weekend show" in Heaven tonight for all who passed before him. Jimmy was a summer tradition for me and my family for over forty years. I shall miss you, Jimmy, and all the great music and times you provided me. May your family, friends and band members find pea...

Re: We Need Alpine Valley in 2023

Sounds like Buffett at Summerfest July 6th pending his health I’ve not been to Summerfest before. Assuming he’s feeling good to go on July 6th, is it a venue/experience worth grabbing tickets? I know nothing will match the tailgating experience at Alpine. If this actually happens, yes, Summerfest i...

Re: Buffett Milwaukee July 6th!

Ah, but the scalpers are at it already. A "reseller" named TicketsCenter, will sell you seats (multiple seats are guaranteed to be together) for specific sections and rows at a highly inflated price for Jimmy's "maybe" show on July 6 at Summerfest. While Ticketmaster and Live Nat...

Re: 2023 tour dates

The most important thing is his health. He’s a performer and a showman and that amounts to a fierce desire to perform for his adoring fans. I would rather he take the summer off and come back when he feels up to it, and not be living up to his fans’ expectations and desires. He has provided me innum...

Re: We Need Alpine Valley in 2023

Wrigley Field was okay as a novelty for a few shows, but most people are well over it now. Alpine is vastly better with the tailgating and the beautiful southeastern Wisconsin countryside. With a summer tour promised but nothing released for dates, it seems that it will be a limited tour. Maybe he'l...

Re: Vegas was terrible

I have been going to see Jimmy live for over forty years and can't say that I ever saw him do a bad show. Bad venues, yes, but never a bad show. On the other hand, some shows were better than others. Alpine Valley 2019 was one of his best shows ever as the sold-out audience (about 39,000 fans) seeme...

Re: 2023 Second Wind Tour Setlist Tracker

Mac needs to change up his "Little Martha" segment. While I love his playing and the song, it has gotten old over the last couple of years.

Re: Who's Going to Alpine, July 23rd 2022?!

We went to Hemingway's in Lake Geneva on Friday night before the Alpine shows in 2016. It was the last year they were open and the complete facility is now gone. It was a great party!! Live band that played late. It would be nice if some bar/restaurant in the area would make the Friday before Buffet...

Re: Alpine 2022!

I ignore the Alpine "haters". The show in 2019 at Alpine was amazing and Jimmy seemed very humbled by the reception he got and his encores indicated that. The crowd was totally into the tailgating and the show. The only thing I hate is Live Nation and their convoluted website. At least we ...

Guess the Coronavirus did solve the "no Alpine show" issue. Glad to see that the date for the United Center show was not rescheduled for 2021. Back to Alpine Valley in 2021, please.

Re: What're Some Songs Jimmy Should Cover?

While I also prefer Jimmy doing his own stuff (I'll make an exception for a Steve Goodman song), I heard this song written by a fellow named John Perry Barlow called "These Waves". It was written for and performed by String Cheese Incident at the Auditorium Theater in Chicago on November 7...

Re: CHICAGO!!!

The United Center for a Chicago summer Jimmy Buffett concert? WTF? I'll hold out for Alpine later in the summer. If it doesn't happen, then "oh well". The only time I haven't seen him in probably the last twenty-five years is 2002. July 18 is right in the middle of a three night stand of S...

Re: Alpine Valley 2020

I hope Jimmy decides to end the summer at Alpine Valley in late August as he did for several years. It is always a blast and a great way to bring the summer celebrating to a close. If he plays Alpine on July 18 I will have to miss the show there as I just bought a three night pass to String Cheese I...

Apollo 11 anniversary - July 20 - Alpine Valley

Fifty years ago today, the Apollo 11 mission landed on the moon. Will Jimmy do anything special tonight at Alpine Valley to commemorate the event? Maybe resurrecting the Walter Cronkite video that, I believe, was used during the “Beach House on the Moon” tour? I was eighteen years old that summer an...
