In the June 2001 issue of GQ Magazine there is an article entitled “Gratuitous Advice”. In it they review celebrities tipping pratices and they said this about JB: “But table 1 is reserved for the 100-percenters. Jimmy Buffett tipped 100 percent on drinks for his band at Coco Loco.” In the same article Mobile was used as the control for the tipping comparison to New York City.
Also this month the latest installment of VH1’s “Cheers & Jeers II” and TV Guide’s “Cheers & Jeers” they give JB a jeer for the insult he gave the ref and being thrown out of the game. The commentator tried to make JB into a role model saying that it would be like your Dad doing the same thing. But then they play the clip of his interview where he said that the first person he apologized to was his son. Now that I believe deserves a Cheer.
