In December he’s recording a country album, titled cleverly enough “Conchy-Tonk.” It will be recorded at Buffett’s Shrimp Boat Sound Studios in Key West. It has been obvious I have been affecting the writing and performing of country music for the past several years. I figured, ‘I can write Jimmy Buffett country songs as good as anybody.’ I had already written ‘Conchy-Tonk.’
“For the CMAs, my band is coming along and we’ll play ‘It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere.’ I don’t think we’ll win.”
